Question about 4-Button Remote Start/Keyless Entry with DP II Technology

Open Question

Remote start cranks but won't start

The car receives signal, and doors unlock, but when I try to remote start, the vehicle only cranks but won't completely start. When I try with the key, it starts up right away. Also, sometimes when I try to use the remote in the mornings, the car won't respond to it and I end up having to put it in valet mode and reprogramming the remote in order for it to start responding to the remote again.

It sounds like your security bypass isn't programmed or needs to be replaced. Try to reprogram it and then start the vehicle. Shut it down and try to start it a second time, if it doesn't start the second time the bypass needs to be replaced.

Looking for location of the keyless remote control module on a 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche LT

Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR)
The remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) is a multifunction module that operates both the keyless entry system as well as the tire pressure monitoring (TPM) system. When an RF message is received from a keyless entry transmitter, the RCDLR interprets this signal and will request via serial data that the body control module (BCM) perform the specific function, i.e. door lock, door unlock, or vehicle locate. The RCDLR also sends messages out to the 2 Way Advanced Remote Start transmitter.

Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) (AP3 or AP8, without E52)
Top rear of the passenger compartment above the rear window

Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) (AP3 or AP8, with E52)
Left rear of the vehicle behind the D-pillar trim panel

Body Control Module (BCM)
On the lower left side of the I/P to the left of the steering column

Good luck !

How does the ignition interlock work on the mazda mpv 2003 ? I can't start the car without the remote control : Simply turning the key will not even crank, does nothing.

Often, you need to press the unlock button on the remote twice. First press unlocks the door and second press disables the immobiliser and allows the vehicle to start. The key alone will not start the vehicle.

Alternatively, when the key is in the ignition - press the remote unlock again.

The remote acts as an immobiliser device. The reason your car won't start on the key is probably because the system won't allow any key in the ignition - it is preventing theft of the vehicle. Once the unlock button on the remote is pressed the system then recognises that key is the legitimate one for the vehicle and the disables the immobiliser and allows you to start the car

Keyless entry is playing up on my elantra wont let me unlock doors with remore

You might be on your way to having a messed up remove and spending some $ on a new set of remotes for your car...the remote signal isnt being properly being captured by your cars comp either or the main receivers in your car are being interferred some how...do you live close to a place with whole lot of antennas either for mobile or wireless...if so always be that close to your car when unlocking and try to access the car somewhere else to see whether the issue will prevail.

Remote start sends signal but truck just cranks over no start

Change the batteries in the remotes. What happens when you press your starter button is it sends signal to the car to crank and then it needs to send another signal to start. The second phase would fail because the battery in the remote was low. Try replacing the and see if that works

Lock the vehicle up using the key. enter the vehicle using the key fob. After the vehicle unlocks you have 60 seconds to enter the vehicle insert the key in the ignition start it up.Your remote start up is out of step.

Have a Audiovox 901C installed and factory remote will not unlock while remote started. What wirre do I use to by pass.

There is no solution to make your factory remote work when the car is running. This is the issue with honda/acura, toyota/lexus, some fords, etc. Here is what must be done; connect the blue/black of the four pin connector from 901C to the unlock and/or disarm wire of the vehicle. This will unlock the door before start. Also, you have to connect the black/yellow to the vehicles lock wire to relock the doors during crank or, the black with green to relock the door after start. Now, you will be able to press and hold the start button of the 901C remote to unlock the doors while running.

I have a 98 GMC JIMMY. Remotes and Dome Lights stopped working. Car would start then immediately die. Took it to the dealer and they stated it was the Body Control Modual (BMC). Picked up the vehicle...

Keyless Entry System Circuit Description
The Power Door Locks/Remote Keyless Entry control system provides several functions. The driver operates the vehicle door locks and rear window release from outside the vehicle using a hand-held radio transmitter. The transmitter sends coded signals to the remote control door lock receiver. The remote control door lock receiver detects and decodes the signal from the transmitter. The remote control door lock receiver issues signals to the body control module (BCM) through a serial data link. The BCM actuates relays to lock and unlock the doors and liftgate. The BCM can also release the liftglass. The power door lock switches provide manual control of the door locks.

Transmitter Programming
Important: Different keyless entry systems are used on General Motors vehicles. The parts are not interchangeable even though the parts may appear to be similar. Observe the back of the transmitter in order to properly identify the system. On 1998 S/T pickups and utilities, use a transmitter identified with GM/UTA preceding the part number.
With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Release the power unlock button on the door panel.
The remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner in order to indicate that the receiver is in the programming mode:
6.1. Locking the doors
6.2. Unlocking the doors
Important: All extra transmitters must be programmed at this time. When a new transmitter is programmed, it will deactivate the old transmitters.
Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner:
7.1. Locking the doors.
7.2. Unlocking the doors.
Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.
