SOURCE: remote not controling fan

You either have a bad receiver or the receiver isn't wired correctly,

On the receiver house wire side are black, white, and green.

On the receiver fan side are white, black, blue, and green. The black is hot for the fan, the blue is hot for the light. They can be wired together from receiver to fan.

At the bottom are a blue and a white wire to go to the lights.

Sometimes when installed the receiver is placed so that a part of the wiring box obstructs the signal from the remote and it doesn't work properly, or misses some commands.

I recommend buying a new remote and receiver and wiring the receiver in so that it rests on the sheetrock beside the wire in box.

SOURCE: I have a Hunter ceiling

I'm assuming your fan is connected to a switch on the wall,if it doesn't turn the fan or light on,as your remote doesn't,then your electrical wires have come loose causing you not to have power to fan,you will have to remove the parts to get to your wing nuts holding your wires together to make a good connection and put electrical tape over wing nuts and wire to keep together, vibration will cause them to come loose, make sure you turn power off at breaker.

SOURCE: just replaced the battery remote

Some remotes have a learn button in them, when it lose its power you need to relearn it. Hold the small button for about 5 seconds, to reprogram it with the receiver. If it doesn't work ,then your receiver may need to be replaced.

The light on the remote is just a battery indicator light. I would try changing the dip switches in the receiver & transmitter first. If that doesn't work, you probably need a new receiver. Good luck since this is a cheap store brand.

Skytech 1410 fireplace remote (8 yrs. old) has stopped working. Replaced batteries in the transmitter. The red light lights up when

It may need to be re-synchronized:

Make sure the receiver's slide switch is in the REMOTE position.
Press and release the LEARN button on the receiver.
When you hear the "Beep", press and hold the ON or OFF button for about 2 seconds on the transmitter.
You will then hear a series of beeps that indicate that your new transmitter has been accepted by the receiver.
If you press the LEARN button on the receiver and you hear no beeps, the receiver is unable to retain any more transmitter codes
(make sure the transmitter battery is properly installed and fully charged).
To delete all of the transmitter codes on your receiver, press and hold the LEARN button for 10 seconds. Then you will hear a
series of beeps, indicating that the receiver's memory has been cleared.

It could also be dead after 8 years. A new unit can be purchased here: Skytech Remotes. I would even suggest on of the new styles with a built in timer or thermostat.

Before you rush out to by a new hand held remote, Check the battery to make sure it' s facing the right direction. Also, wipe off the receivers sensor, on the front of the AC unit, as dust and dirt can block it from receiving the infrared signal, If you do end up having to replace it, you can buy just the hand held remote transmitter, that's all you'll need to purchase. It will come with instructions on how to program to your existing receiver. You can probably get one from the manufacturer of your AC unit. Be sure to have the correct Model Number of your AC unit when you do.

Hope this helped you, Mary Alice. Please let me know. Thanks.

Hello Susan,

If the indicator light on your hand-held transmitter lights up when you press the buttons, it normally means it's working. The problem is probably with the UC7067 receiver in the fan. One sure way to destroy the UC7067 is to have the power going to it controlled by a dimmer switch on the wall. If this is the case, replace the dimmer switch with a standard on/off toggle or an in-wall transmitter. You can find both a replacement UC7067 receiver and either another hand-held transmitter RC-210 or an in wall transmitter WC-210 at this address: http://www.fanmanlighting.com/shop/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=57

Hope this helps!

Hunter fan remote 85095-02, red signal light glowing continualy

It's continually transmitting. My guess is there is a button stuck causing the unit to run down batteries. If no button stuck, you'll probably have to replace the remote -- it's a fulty transistor.

Older Model Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan: The Redington II w/Remote Control

Ironically, i am having the same problem with TWO different Reddington's in my house.

One is brand new, just hung a few weeks ago, the other is about 3 years old.

The new one -- the lights are stuck in a constant dim, bright, off, dim bright off, and the fan wont turn at all.

The old one, the lights wont come on and the fan will only spin slow.

Both failed within a day or two of each other, and this is driving me nuts.

I thought it might be the remotes, so I took both remotes and pulled the batteries out of each, but that didnt do anything.

If anyone else is having this problem, please post.

No connection between the fan remote and Ceiling fan

The remote-controlled fans that I've seen all have DIP switches in the transmitter (the "remote") and receiver (up by the fan). For the remote to operate the fan, both sets of switches have to be set to the same code. If you happened to bump the DIP switches (and change the code) while replacing the battery, the fan would no longer respond to the remote.

It's been four months since you posted this problem, so you've probably figured that out by now. Still, other users may run into the same problem occasionally.
