Question about Logitech QuickCam Fusion Webcam

Webcam not found - but plugged in to USB

Hi therei've been using Logitechs 5000 fusion on my PC for about 2 years now. Recently, I've got a new computer so thought it best to use thi s as the processor is much better and the PC's on it's last legs. I downloaded the drivers and uploaded to the laptop, but when my webcam is plugged in it states that I need to connect a webcam. I've tried unplugging, restarting, you name it, but still nothing. Can you help please?RegardsVinny

    HI there
Thanks for the swift response, but I used it yesterday on my PC so I know it's fine. Looking around, seems like a few people have issues with the driver for this. I've downloaded all the software again, but is the webcam software totally different?

There are 3 unused usb ports on my hardrive, but when instructed to plug in my logitech webcam nothing happens

Check the drivers in Device manager to see if everything is in order. As USBs are plug and play they mainly depend on the firmware being up-to-date, so it may be worth your while looking at logitechs site and checking out your webcams driver. It is also worth trying the camera on another computer and try another USB device on your own. This will eliminate general issues with the webcam and your usb ports.

USB problems can be quickly narrowed down by eliminating issues, so if these dont work come back with any extra details

Microsoft Lifecam - Broken up picture when using the webcam

The problem was being caused by the wireless USB adaptor. When I disconnected the adaptor the webcam picture came good. I plugged the adaptor into a different USB port on the machine and no interference. I don't have any explanation for why on one USB port I get the interference and on another I don't get any interference. I am happy to live with it like it is if it works.

QuickCam fusion webcam doesn't take pics of a higer resolution than 960x720

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Logitech Quickcam Fusion!

Instead of plugging the webcam in after the computer is running, I plugged in while it was shut down. The first time the computer booted with the webcam attached it took approximatly 2 minutes longer to boot, but every boot after has been as fast as ever. Webcam works great now!

I have a pro 4000 logitech webcam

Possibilities:

1) One of your USB devices have faulted, or is causing a resource conflict (or similar)
-- Remove all USB devices, and reboot.

2) Your USB chip/ports have been damaged.
-- Find a spare HardDisk or bacjup your data and re-install Windows and see how that goes.

3) Your Power Supply Unit (PSU) isnt supplying enough power to your PC (usually caused by a Video card upgrade). Try a more powerful PSU ... 400watts should do the trick

4) Bad memory (RAM) can cause wierd problems. run memtest for an hour to make sure your memory is ok
