Question about Computers & Internet
Very disappointed with the battery of this computer. 4 months old and already the battery only charges 48% when full. This is my first Lenovo poduct. I never had this problem with Toshiba computer.

SOURCE: Battery is not charging
From HP website- worked immediately for me.
This document pertains to HP Notebook PCs with Windows Vista. Understanding battery charging issues If the notebook battery is not charging or the notebook does not indicate that the battery is charging, the most likely scenario is that the battery itself is operating correctly, but its power management software may have become corrupt. In order to correct the problem, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the power management software by using the Device Manager. This document will explain how to uninstall and reinstall the ACPI Battery listings in Windows Vista, as well as how to obtain and install updated BIOS files, if needed to correct other battery issues. Uninstalling and reinstalling power management software in Windows Vista In order to correct problems with the battery's power management software, follow the steps below.

If the laptop is gone into a suspended mode it is still powered on but sleeping. This will continue to use power and will power down the battery over time.
You could enable hibernation which saves the current state of your pc so that when you activate it again it restores to your previous state of work. This will use close to no battery power to perform.

I just had the same problem. My battery had discharged to less than zero and would not start even though the power plug was in. I tried everything... but what fixed it for me was to remove the power plug, remove the battery, plug in the power cord and start the machine. Once the machine was already booted, I put the battery in and it started charging. Dont know if that will fix your problem, but it fixed mine.

Take the battery out, with the power plugged in replace battery, orange battery level lights on the laptop will light probably stay on for a few seconds then go out. Repeat until battery level lights indicate a lower level usually one light. continue watching charge state ( the blue battery led on the lower left on the laptop should be blinking) once the battery gets a start charge it should continue to fully charge. Sometimes batteries drained too low don't have enough power to run their internal circuitry to start charging.
