So what is your question .did you take a compression check .compression shold be over 90 lbs I forget the exact could be 120 but it will start with 90. if it is lower than that , change the piston and rings , this is really a easy job the hardest part is compressing the rings on the piston into the jug , look on youtube to see how easy it is done

KICK HARDER TRY PULL STARTING IT..IN SECOND GEAR..DOES IT HAVE ENOUGH COMPRESSION TO START?IT SHOULD START PULLING IT...START OFF WITH NO THROTTLE THAN IF NOT STARTING CRACK THE THROTTLE SO LIGHTLY AND SHE SHOULD FIRE OFF WHILE IN GEAR BEING PULLED OF COURSE BE CARE FUL NOT TO RUN INTO. WHO EVERS PULLING YOU..USE A LONG TOW ROPE..IF YOUR NOT A SEASONDED RIDER AND KNOW YOUR BIKE VERY WELL I WOULD NOT ATTEMPT THE PULL START...IF NOT CHECK YOUR COMPRESSION AND TIMING..MAJOR VACUUM LEAK MAYBE AT BASE GASKET..IS ENGINE SUCKING TO MUCH AIR? GOOD LUCK..

88 rx7 run but wont start

The FC3S is notorious for this and fueling issues. Check all ground points, battery cables and connections. Check the draw from the starter. If the voltage drops below 10V there is not enough power for the ignition, causing weak spark. It really needs to spin over 200rpm cranking. Pop starting does not necessarily mean the compression is good. You need to make sure it cranks fast enough to get a proper compression test with rotary tester, New NGK plugs, new NGK plug wires.

I have a 1991 nissan pickup. The engine started getting hot, as i was driving it lost power and eventually shut off. I didnt see any water leaking so I checked the oil and antifreeze was in the oil. Now it...

I would really be concerned about the antifreeze in oil, sounds like head gasket at least or head, block problem, even if you dont see antifreeze leaking, the engine can burn it and exit through tail pipe-white smoke or steam (beyond just cold start-up)

1993 6.5 diesel wont start need to pull start

Sounds like you can't get the starter to spin the engine over fast enough to get it to start.Are you using the dual battery setup.They will supply enough cold cranking amps to get it to fire.
Load test them to make sure they're in good condition .Have the starter checked as well.
The worst case scenario would be a worn out engine that simply can't compress the fuel enough to ignite it.Bad compression rings,valve seal,even a leak at the injectors all contribute to poor compression.
I'd look at the batteries first,checking their cables next.Then get that starter checked.And lastly worry about the compression.Okay?Let me know how it goes,Take care!

Have the battery tested at an auto parts store to ensure there is enough power in it. Sounds like it's strong enough to turn the motor with no compression (spark plug removed) but too weak to turn the motor with compression. Also check for loose or corroded wires.

In all looses power while driving, turn off the key and back on and starts to run right again.

let me guess 305 and scottsdale?....could be silverado....

it sounds like your trucks fuel filter could be plugged.....when this happens you wont get enough fuel to the TBI and it wont have the necassary ponys in reserve.

"change the fuel filter" make shure that it is getting enough fuel/.....

if your ride does not get better.....it could be that your engine has lost compression.....due to worn cylinder walls and worn piston rings.

when this happens it starts eating the oil.....and will be powerless and smokey.......

try changing the fuel filter first..

....and you might try running some "RESTORE" engine treatment ......"BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE DESPERATE......IF YOU DONT FEEL CONFINDENT DONT DO IT"

hope this helps...

Engine will not crank with every try.

Still sounds like a valve adjustment problem and as for relying on a Sears serviceman.....well. lol I just did a valve readjust on basically the same engine with identical symtoms and it starts fine now. As for the 10w-30, Briggs recommends 30w in the warmer climates.

Hyundai elantra 2002 over heated stopped running and cannot start up

The head gasket is probably bad. unplug the coil pack and remove the spark plugs and turn key to start, if its leaking coolant will shoot out of spark plug holes, seen it a lot.

Wont start

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Absence of 2T oil in the reservoir in a two stroke engine is always bad news. Probable cause of no start:
  • oil level sensor knows no oil, triggers CDI not to fire, pls check if you have spark at the plug;
  • if the engine was run previously with no 2T oil (unknown to you), then it is possible to have broken rings. You can check compression by removing the plug and covering the hole with a finger. Start and determine if their is compression strong enough to push your finger away from the hole and produce a pressure release sound;
  • if there is spark and compression is good, you may need to de-carbonized the cylinder head and the top of the piston.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
