SOURCE: Canon iP4500 colour management

Try this one:

In Photoshop, go to View>Proof Setup>Custom and select the ICC profile for the printer and paper that you will be using.
Canon iP4500 SG* is for printing with Canon Everyday Glossy Photo Paper (GP-501/401) on your printer.
Canon iP4500 SP1 is for printing with Canon Plus Glossy Photo Paper (PP-101) on your printer.
Canon iP4500 PR* is for printing with Canon Photo Paper Pro on your printer.
Canon iP4500 MP* is for printing with Canon Matte Photo Paper on your printer.
Select a rendering intent (i.e. Perceptual, Relative Colorimetric, Saturation, Absolute Colorimetric). I normally use either Perceptual or Relative Colorimetric on my Canon printers.
You might want to check black point compensation.
The display will now show you how the image is supposed to look once printed.
Edit the image based on the softproof.
Afterwards, go to Print With Preview.
Select the same color profile and rendering intent that you used for softproofing.
Choose Let Photoshop Determine the Colors.
Hit Print. Select the paper that you will be printing on. Go to Color Options. Select none for Color Correction.
Hit Print again.
Hope that helps.......

SOURCE: I have a Canon S820

well..this is a bit tricky..each monitor has a temperature setting, among other things. So, to tweak this sort of item takes quite a bit of understanding. I recommend that you bone up on the canon first, then backtrack through your monitor settings, then to Photoshop.

Canon pixma iX6520 coloration is off..changed inks and cleaning process.still have the problem.Help?

The two things that will do this with regularity is non-canon ink or ink canisters put in the wrong color slot. The latter is easy to do with the two magenta, and the two cyans. I'd start there.

go to Edit > Color Settings, how is Photoshop Elements currently set? The first thing I would do is try setting it to "No color management" and see if you get better results. If this works for you, you're in luck, because color management gets tricky. In settings "No color management" does not produce acceptable results, you will have to start reading up on color management and color calibrating your devices, particularly your printer. You might want to also read Photoshop Elements Help topic "To print using color management."Most graphics software has setting for color management, but personally, I have always gotten the best results by simply turning color management off. Color management is primarily intended for people in a pre-press environment. Not everyone needs it. If you're not doing professional printing, first try working without color management before you assume you need it.

I just installed a Canon mx300 on my Mac (runs 10.4.x) and all seemed to go well. I can print but the black letters don't print black (actually, the same happens if I have colored text mixed in). It's...

If the colors in your document don’t look right, you can change whether colors are managed by ColorSync or your printer.
To change color management options for printing:
Open the document you want to print.
Choose File > Print.
If the Print dialog contains only two pop-up menus and some buttons across the bottom, click the disclosure triangle beside the Printer pop-up menu.
Choose Color Matching from the print options pop-up menu.
Select one of the following options:
Select ColorSync if you want the application you’re using to control the color management of the printed output.
Select “In printer” if you want the printer you’re using to control the color management of the printed output.
If you select ColorSync and don’t believe the correct profile is selected for your printer, you may be able to change it. If you see a Profile pop-up menu, choose Other Profiles from the pop-up menu, and select a new one.
I hope this info will help to sort out your problem..Regards

Every program prints the colors on my photos different than how they look on the screen. What setting will calibrate all to be the same? I have a Samsung 23in widescreen lcd monitor, and use Lightroom,...

That happens because the screen color resolution is better than the printer color resolution. You can set your color scheme down to 16 colors. Right click on the screen and select the appearance tab to change the color resolution
