SOURCE: reload operating system in symbol mc50

As you know a cold boot will not help you here.

You need to access the IPL loader.

Press and hold the Power button and both Scan buttons, then press the Reset button. When the mobile computer resets into IPL, release the Power button and Scan buttons.

Hello,
it is possible that if you changed the battery you forfot to move the slide button next to the battery to the correct position. It often happens to me :-) Please check it, its on the right top corner of the battery, you should not see the red marking, if there is the correct position.

Hello,

Align screen thats all it says


Cold boot the scanner with the three finger contortion. Power Button, right scan button and the reset button at the same time. Wait for it to reboot. If it doesn't reboot, you haven't done it right. Redo it. Then if it comes up and keeps saying align you may have to hit the reset only button and wait for it to warm boot.

My Symbol MC50 won't pass the align screen..many reboots without success. Any suggestions?


if it doesnt pass the align screen its the digitizer unfortunately reboots wont help it will need to be sent in for repair, you can contact me if you would like to send it in

Symbol will not send changes to POS system


I had setup the symbol on one of our client computers not the server computer which caused a problem with syncing the inventory information with Restaurant Pro Express. With RPE there is a single "server" computer that all of the client computers send and receive their information to and from. The Symbol MC50 must be setup on this server in order for the information to sync properly.
