Press the eject button on the keyboard, top right-hand side, just above delete button.
You could also try going to your HDD, click on CD Drive, right click and eject.
Hope this helps.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the opinion. It's no wonder that the optical drive is giving up. The Macbook is less than 2 years old. 4 months ago, the Hard Drive quit."

What key do iuse to eject a disc from my apple computer

On my MacBook Pro.
Here are the ways that I know.
The EJECT symbol looks like an arrowhead with an underline underneath.
Look for a key with the symbol on the upper right of the keyboard.
Go to FINDER and look for DEVICES. The DVD Drive should be listed and there should be the EJECT symbol after it and click it.

From the desktop, drag the DVD to the TRASHCAN.

How to eject a cd

A few ways of doing this

1) restart mac and press down the trackpad button after you hear the startup noise

2) if that does not work try opening up disk utility which is located in applications and then in the utilities folder and click on the icon of your disk under the left hand column then go up to eject button and click eject

3) or open up terminal found in the utilities folder within your applications folder and then type in
drutil tray eject and then press return

4) Finally what to do is try pick up your macbook tilt the
macbook to the one side and press the eject key and hopefully the effect of gravity will allow the CD to fall out.
However, I would say that DVDicon1.png drives in all macs are a bit suspect and if your macbook is still under warranty or under AppleCare take it back to the Apple Store and tell them that the DVD drive is faulty and they should replace it free off charge. Hope this helps.

One other way to do it which I have used recently but IT CAN BREAK THE DVD DRIVE, so only use it as a last resort. Get a thin piece of plastic and put a piece of double sided tape on it then with the macbook switched off insert the piece of plastic with the tape facing down in relation to the keyboard. Put it in about half an inch and you may be able to drag the dvd out.

Hope this helps.

I have macpro 13inc.my problem is my disc is not working with the eject is not function.so still my dish is inside of my disc unit how can i remove manually pls. give me instruction properly thanks lot...

Thanks for contacting Fixya Support.

With the Macbook Pro 13" having a Superdrive or Combo optical drive, you are dealing with a slot-loaded drive. As a result, if you have a disc that is loaded into your optical drive, which will not eject, then there isn't a manual way to remove the disc without causing damage to either the optical drive or the disc itself.

In most cases, of a potentially stuck disc in a Apple notebook's optical drive, a visit to your local Apple Retail Store Genius Bar or local Apple-authorized service center would be highly recommended.

With that noted however, here are some troubleshooting steps to try from the Mac OS X side first before having to take that step and visit an Apple service provider:

- CD DVD EJECT -

- - Reboot your Macbook Pro 13"

- - Hold down your Media Eject key on your keyboard pad prior to the Apple Chime starting.

- - Keep holding the Media Eject key down while your Macbook Pro 13" boots up

- - The disc should eject before you reach your Desktop

- - When it does, simply release your Media Eject key.

If that does not work, try this:

-EJECTING DISC USING TERMINAL-

From your Desktop:

* Click anywhere on a blank space on your desktop. Now you should see Finder listed near the Apple menu icon.

* From the Finder menu, click on Go, then Utilities from the

drop-down menu. This will take you to your Utilities folder.

* Locate and open the Terminal application.

* At prompt, type: drutil eject and press the Return key on your keyboard

This command line should eject the disc from the drive, unless there are mechanical issues with the drive.

If neither of these steps work, then I would be remiss as an Apple Certified Tech, if I did not recommend you proceed to take your Macbook Pro 13" in for service.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

-Mactechtrainer

If you look on the dvd drive there is a little round hole. Just get a paper clip and straighten it out and stick it into that hole. There is a little button that you push with the paper clip that is a manual eject button for cases like this.
