Samsung 1710 stops after warm up

My 1710 goes through the customary warm up before printing, sounds as if it is going to print, then stops and the red light goes on.  I open and close the paper drawer and it goes through motions again and stops.  After several such attempts opening and closing the paper drawer it will finally print, sometimes one page, sometimes all.

Re: Samsung 1710 stops after warm up

Chances are, you're getting paper jams.  Try cleaning the rollers (as indicated below.)  If that seems to help the situation, then you'll need to get new feed rollers.

Look where you put the paper in. See if you can see inside there and see the roller that turns and picks up the paper. If you can, make a mixture of alcohol and a little dish soap. Damp a rag with it, and reach in there to clean the rollers.  See if the rollers will turn manually, but be careful not to force anything.  Another way to get to the whole roller, would be to start making a print, while watching the rollers.  As soon as the rollers have turned half way, unplug the printer.  Now you can reach the other side and clean that.

There is another way to clean the rollers.  Using the alcohol mix, take a single sheet of paper, and damp one half of it with the solution.  Stick the single sheet in the paper tray, and make a print, but hold on to the paper so that it doesn't feed through the machine.  Do this several times, and the rollers turning against the wet paper should clean them.

Try to print again. It might take a few tries. The rollers have to turn against the paper and dry themselves off again.

If this works, then you need new rollers (cleaning them will only make them work temporarily and the problem will come more frequently until you change them).

Sounds like the printer is having trouble feeding the paper , it tries then fails to feed paper and goes into jam.

Locate rubber feed roller (usally grey or black about a inch wide should be , lower front above paper tray, whipe this rubber roller with a slightly damp cloth and try again

You could also verify if this is the problem by feeding paper via bypass instead of paper tray

Check to make sure error light is not indicating no toner and that is what is stopping printing

My printer just refuses to pick up paper. It sounds like it's going to print, then quits & red light comes on. Do I need to clean the rollers???

Yes. Remove the paper tray. Lift the printer and you have to see paper feed roller it is rubber, just clean of dirt with cloth and alcohol or water.

to fix the problem you have to press the plate that the paper sits on down until it clicks into place once you do that it should work fine.

I have a Samsung 1710 laser printer. It prints the text fine but there is a 1/64 (aproximately)wide vertical line of broken printing on the right side of each page. Also, the paper does not appear to be...

Sounds like the printer cartridge is bad. The first thing I would try is replacing that and then see where you are. The broken line on the right side is likely due to a worn imaging drum coating, common with Samsung.

I have a samsung ml-1710 laser printer. Was wrking

Power off the printer, disconnect/reconnect the printer cable, power on the printer, reboot your workstation.

If that doesn't work, in Control Panel - Printers, delete the icon for your printer. Disconnect the printer cable. Reboot your workstation and log in. Reconnect the printer cable and see if the printer is recognized. Install the printer driver.

Samsung ML 1710 won't print second page

i'm thinking it's a config-related problem. i've seen a comparable problem already. could you check the settings in the printer software? there is setting that says "print first page from different tray" if its box is checked, the printer wants to print the rest of the print job from another tray, and will block when there is no other tray available.
if you find this setting is not marked, then i propose to delete the printer driver and all settings and then downloading the most recent driver from the manufacturer's website and installing that one.

ML-1710 Printer won't print

Our printer at work does this and I found that a piece of paper was stuck under the rollers. As soon as I removed it the paper went through. Another problem could be that you may need to FAN the paper and make sure the other side is feeding in first. Hope this help

Samsung ML-1710 Printer: Online/Error (red) lite ON: won't print

It is not a computer problem, when your printer won't come to ready. The lights flashing are due to a failure of some sort - electronic, or perhaps a fuser warm up problem. The fact is, whatever the fault, it is cheaper to replace this printer than have it repaired.
