Take bulb out of front turn signal yamaha v star 1100

Hi, anonymous removing any kind of light bulb can be easy or really tough. Instrument bulbs either snap/press in or if you have an older model have a base with indexing pins that are of the push and twist clockwise about 3/16" variety these are identified by having a 1/4"-3/8" diameter base and the bulb is usually round. If they have been in their sockets for years and have rusted or corroded you can spray some penetrating de-rusting chemical around the bulb and socket base, let it do it's work for a couple minutes, then try to remove the bulb the normal way, twist counter clockwise about 3/16" and pull up. If this method is unsuccessful then you must exercise the nuclear option. This is performed by installing nuclear blast protective eyewear and breaking the bulb with a regular pair of pliers. Then with a pair of needle nose pliers pretend you are a dentist extracting a stubborn molar with a twisting upward pulling motion using as much force as necessary to accomplish the desired end result. Then take a small conical wire brush, the one used to clean battery terminals works great for this and decontaminate the bulb socket until you see clean shiny metal. Next coat the base of your new bulb with "dielectric" grease and install. I used instrument light bulbs as an example because of their general vertical proximity and are conducive to gravity feed penetrating oil, all other light bulbs are generally horizontal and are not penetrating oil friendly but the dental extraction procedure still applies. GE JVM1640WB004 light bulbs break off when trying to replace them

GE uses a bulb that includes two flat pins. It looks like a bulb and removable socket, but it isn't. Just a way to cost you more. The bulb is removable from the top where it's mounted, and removed from the hole that it sticks vertically down thru. 1. You have to remove the unit cover to get to the bulb. 2. You have to unplug the connector to remove the bulb. 3. You have to squeeze two plastic pins, to extract the bulb from its location. This is not a common bulb; good luck finding one.

Tail lights dont turn on

1. Replace your car tail light. You will need working gloves to protect your hand during the process. Of course you will also need a screwdriver, cleaning cloth, wire brush, and a good set of tail light bulbs.

2.Understand that different models of car have different set of tail light covers. Naturally, these covers will require different un-installation procedures. So, determine if you can dismount the cover from the outside or you will have to dismount it from the trunk of the car.

3.Determine how to dismount the tail light cover, carefully detach it from the car. You can use different sets of screwdrivers for this. Be careful not to break the tail lights cover. The important thing is you must be able to expose the bulb in order to extract it.

4.Remove the tail lights cover, unscrew the bulb from its socket. Sometimes you will have to press a little and twist the bulb in order to extract it from the socket.

5.Extract the bulb, bring it to your favorite auto parts and accessories store and find the exact match of your tail light bulb. Be sure to get the correct match because if you use other types of bulb, your tail lights may not work properly.

6.Reinstall the tail light bulb, clean the aluminum casing of the tail light. Wipe the socket and wiring with a dry cloth. You can use wire brush if there are corrosion around the tail light casing.

7.Put the good bulb on the socket. You might still need to apply a little pressure on the socket before you can install it fully.

8.Reinstall the tail light bulb, replace the cover of the tail lights and secure it tightly.

9.Test to make sure your new tail lights are working. Start the engine and apply the brakes. You can ask someone to see if the tail lights are really working.

Need instructions on how to change a parking light bulb an a 2008 Pontiac van montana.

First ascertain from the auto parts dealership with vehicles brands about the availablitity of parking lights bulbs. Once acquired, the installation process takes over as explained. Second, decide on contacting a electrician at the mechanics else the processes performing the task elsewhere requires the appropiate tools, time, and an extra pair of hands. Third, depending on the type of vehicle, the parking lighting bulbs would be accessible by reaching into the engine if the replaceable ones are at the front, or accessing the truck area from the interior of the vehicle if the rear bulbs require repairs. However also, the type of vehicle may least require loosing of screws or bolts and nuts. A more complicated vehicle may require tools capable of reaching into the engine, and sometimes require applying pressure to extract the blown fuse bulbs. Contact an electrical expert at the mechanic.

My brake light is out on the drivers side of my 1999 Toyota Celica GT. My husband cannot seem to get his hands on the bulb for extraction. What is he doing wrong? He is coming from the trunk door opening...

I think you should see screws inside the trunk and on the back of your tail light then unscrew them and you'll be able to get the whole tail light out and then you can take the bulb out by turning the bulb cover. Good luck
