SOURCE: i have a toro ccr 3650 snowblower the electric start just grinds

This problem has been solved! I took the covers off the machine, removed the starter and eventually replaced the drive. Apparently the drive parts were put on back ordered and took about 4 weeks to get the drive set. One thing I suggest if anyone does this is to look at the fly wheel to insure it's in good working order. The dealer I worked with said often that is chewed up (the teeth on the fly wheel) and leads to a bigger headache. Fortunately mine was just fine. The machine now works likes like new as I put in a new spark plug as well!

No if your belt is shredding there is something rubbing on the belt. Check the idler/tightner pulley see if it spins freely. Check make sure nothing but the pulleys are touching the belt when it is engaged.

SOURCE: Toro CCR 2450, Common starting problems? Fresh

Next step would be to check the ignition module(coil),I have a lawnmower that uses the same 2 cycle engine. Check coil for spark by removing the spark plug from the block then connect the insulator side of the sparkplug back to the coil then ground the plug by touching the threaded side to the block away from the sparkplug hole while turning the engine over. Should see a spark, if not you'll need a new coil, not hard to replace. calls for Briggs & Stratton #80-1268 you can also use a Toro/Lawnboy coil #99-2911 or #99-2916 or #684049.

SOURCE: I can start my toro

The main jet of your carburetor is clogged. You can view this part at a site like www.arcolawn.com and order the replacment gasket set right there. clean out the jetting and you will be up and going.

I hope this helps.

If so please vote my fix up

Take the black cover off of the side (left) and look at the belt. It is probably worn out.

My snowblower just started back firing, why?

Hi,
Snow is melting on the engine and causing the spark wiring and/or magneto to short out...
Stop blowing snow and run the engine at a fast idle for awhile to dry off the motor...then it will work again..

Toroccr2000 ran fine yesterday, today it starts but wont get up to speed and after 20 sec. or so, dies. I have not yet tried to fix anything yet. Hoping for guidance.

It is difficult to know without hearing the engine run but the most common cause of poor running is the fuel system having varnished fuel in it. If you get your model number and look it up at a site like www.arcolawn.com you can order the carburetor rebuild kit. Instalation is simple and can get you up and going at minimal cost.

I hope this helps. Please vote me up if my fix was useful.

I have a CCR 3650 Snow Blower ,The engine is racing at idle. How do I adjust?

Try the spring on the governor. sounds like it's not hooked up, or extremely week. I rebuild and sell these all winter. I've had it happen a few times. Runs really good! but, will ruin the motor running over speed like that. There are adjustments- some have the spring on a long flange of metal so it can be bent backwards to add tension- it doesn't take much! If the motor starts to rev up and down and up and down, add a hair more tension. It there is too much tension it will stall out when you hit heavy snow.
