A better solution is like I have mine; use the Arcam 10 connected to the tweeters of your speakers & the power Amp connected to the woofers & link the pre out's on the 10 to the power Amp. using phono cables. The Manual can be downloaded from Arcams discontinued section of their website.
This Bi-Amp method gives a far superior sound than just using the 10 as a pre Amp.

GS100 trips rear circuit breaker. Found 2 bad output transistors. Replaced all output Q's. Output now distorted. What do i check next?

The big question is what caused the output transistors to fail...

Most modern audio amplifier circuits are dc coupled for good performance on the cheap and that means amplification stages can't be considered independently and several stages must be considered as a whole.
Some circuits are more sensitive than others and more highly stressed. If it has a complementary pair output stage the transistors should be a matched pair.

The reason for this in a dc coupled circuit the bias and the quiescent current for each stage is controlled by earlier stages - when an output transistor pops, the fault is likely to be several driver stages back.

When a transistor is replaced the gain is likely to be different to the original and so the bias and quiescent current must be checked and adjusted in order for the finished job to have long life and good performance and this usually means some component values have to be changed slightly...

Kenwood with dc offset

DC offset is most often caused by the bias level for the output transistors changing for some reason. This could just be that the control is dirty and needs to be cleaned and re-adjusted, or the biasing network has a problem, most likely the diode or transistor that is being used to set the reference. The diode or transistor is often mounted to the heatsink for thermal feedback, which allows the bias to change depending on how hot the output transistors are getting, There is no mention as to how high the DC offset is. The usual range for DC offset adjustment is less than +/- 1 volt. If your offset is higher than this, there usually is a problem with the bias circuit that needs to be repaired. If it is MUCH higher, then one of you output transistors or driver transistors is most likely defective.

Cut out on one occassion & how often does amp need service

Hopefully not often. They are very complicated in design. Keep ALL airflow paths clean and if in a cabinet, give adequate air movement... use a fan if necessary to vent the cabinet. The unit has a string of diodes to adjust the quiescent current in the power amp and if you overheat the unit it will try to protect itself by shutting down.

Hi i have a85 amp when switced on says dc offset check conection ? then it turns off

Hello, the unit is in protect mode from either an internal short(bad amp) or bad speaker or speaker wire.First disconnect all speaker wires from the back of the amp,if the problem is gone then you will be looking to narrow down which speaker is bad (or speaker wire). That can be done with a ohmmeter or a less desirable way and thats a process of elimination simply hooking the speakers back up one at a time till it fails and then thats the culprit speaker.

Marantz audio amp. How to set quiescent current on output transistors

Hi, quiescent current is set with a diode string located far away from the output transistor high miller compensation cap values used, quasi-complementary (of course), lots of non-linear, single-transistor gain stages here and there.
That's all i can remember about it...
Take care

What does the offset light mean on sony xplod amp

THIS IS "DC OFFSET". MOST AMPLIFIER PROTECTION CIRCUITS REACT TO THIS CONDITION BY SHUTTING THE AMPLIFIER DOWN. THIS IS A CONDITION, NORMALLY BROUGHT ON BY SHORTED OUTPUT TRANSISTORS, THAT ARE TRYING TO PASS THE POWER SUPPLY DC CURRENT TO THE SPEAKERS, WHICH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, WOULD BURN THE VOICE-COILS IN THE SPEAKERS. MOST TIMES THIS WOULD BE CHARACTERIZED AS HOOKING THE SPEAKERS UP AND OBSERVING THEM SIMPLY POKING OUT OR IN CONSTANTLY WHICH CREATES MUCH EXCESS HEAT. THIS IS WHY THE AMPLIFIER WILL SHUT DOWN TO PROTECT THE SPEAKERS. YOU CAN TRY TO DISCONNECT THE SPEAKERS AND THE RCA INPUTS THEN POWER THE AMPLIFIER UP. IF THE DC OFFSET LIGHT STILL ILLUMINATES, THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE THIS UNIT REPAIRED. ONCE REPAIRED, BEFORE REINSTALLING IT, MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SPEAKERS FOR DAMAGED VOICE-COILS, WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF FAILURE. OK. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE....V

DC Motor Amp Draw?

Its a completely different principle for AC/DC. Its similar as the more amps the more current but with AC you will have more volts and less amps whereas DC you will tend to have more amps and less voltage. Think of it like this a 12v DC car battery puts out 500-1000 amps and a typical house on AC will have a 200 amp panel with the average circuit being only 15-20amps... So dont mistake the two as DC motors are more for variable speed operation and AC tends to be more of a set speed with minimal variation. Hope this helps

Arcam avr300 intermittent problems

I had this same problem with my Arcam AVR300. I ended up shipping mine to an Arcam repair center and they repaired it and shipped it back for under $200. The problems were cracked connection on the start relay and they replaced power supply diodes. Very well worth it and now I can enjoy it again!
