Question about Computers & Internet
When I turned on the computer the monitor light is yellow, which I assume means caution, and nothing appears on the screen. Then I cannot turn off the computer without turning off the power. When I hit the monitor switch it turns green for a short time and then indicates "no signal" and goes black. The mouse does not work at all ... but I still cannot turn off the computer without turning off the power completely. What is the problem?

I think there is a problem with the power on the pc. if you can unplug the lead to the monitor and it works fine. but on the pc will not work, mouse can be connected. the graphics card could be the fault, it could be shorting out and making the power fail. this can damage the psu at the same time if not sorted.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sounds like either there is a bad connection from the computer to the monitor, or the monitor has a faulty power regulator, causing the monitor to overheat prematurely, and shut off.

Your site is extremely misleading and fraudulent. I was under the impression that I would at least get a hint at what might be a problem instead of you folks making me wait to get a money for something answer that you could have displayed on your main page. Places like yours have no place on the internet and I'm going to find out what I can do to report you.
Thank's for nothing

it is going into sleep mode, good luck with this.... i am currently asking how to get my hard drive to quite putting my monitor into sleep mode.
although it hasn't worked for me because my screen stays black, one of the options given to me is to try to start in safe mode and then adjust your settings to "never" on the energy/sleep/hibernate mode
some one else suggested that i remove and reseat the video card
hopefully one of those will work for you

Do you get anything at all on the screen--like white writing at startup?
Even if your video drivers have become corrupt, they are not used until Windows actually starts.
It very well could be the flourescent backlight has gone bad. Can you adjust the brightness/contrast at all to see anything?
If those controls do nothing for you, then you're looking to get a new monitor.
Your monitor does have a sort of power supply for the backlight and that could be bad, but if you're not into taking it apart, then you are far better off buying a new monitor.

This is a classic VP930 problem.
It is caused by bad capacitors in the power supply circuit.
Open the monitor, and look at the power board. There are six capacitors. Replace the 220uF @ 25V and the 1000uF @ 16V capacitors. I would recommend replacing them with 35V and 25V capacitors respectively.
If the serial number on your monitor starts with Q8H you could also have a bad IC on the main board. Q8 on the main board is an FET in an IC package. If this problem persists solder a wire from the right side to the left side. There is one pin that turns the IC on and off. All the other pins (per side) are soldered together. Do not solder the pin on the left side that is by itself. Just leave it. Solder ALL the other pins on the left to ALL the other pins on the right.
Remember, do this ONLY if the problem persists after replacing the capacitors AND if your serial number starts with Q8H.
