Question about Krups Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
After grinding there is no action. It stops and not heat water

You will have to take the machine to a repair shop. Check on the phone first, to find a shop that will check what the problem is and how much to repair it. They may do that part for FREE. Then select the most economical estimate of repair. If your machine is fairly NEW, then check your warranty, and make sure you have proof-of-purchase, then contact the store where you bought it from----they should either replace it, or give you a full refund.

Make sure the slot between the grind basket and filter basket is clean and free of grounds - then inspect the area near the grinder motor - use the brush that came supplied with the Cuisinart to clean that area out. Once thoroughly cleaned, try one more time to Grind. Let me know if it works.

I had the same problem, took it all apart, separated the two halves, and looked into the guts of the machine, not an easy task. Fiddled with this and that, and looked at the back of the switch mechanism, and heard it making a 'click' when depressed, so put it all back together, to no avail...It turns out the grinder needs to have two limit switches engaged, one between the lid of the ground coffee hopper and the underside of the grinder hopper housing, and the other between the grinder lid and the base of the unit. This last limit switch was my problem, it seems the lid wasn't making contact with the limit switch, so the unit didn't run. I cleaned out the narrow gap that the grinder lid sits within, pressed the lid down until I heard a small 'click' , pressed the on switch, and presto! it works. You can see this very tiny switch if you take off the grinder lid, and look in the narrow gap it sits in at a position of about three o'clock ( the back of the machine when viewed from the top being 12 o'clock. Hope this helps anyone else who can't find their receipt within the one year warranty period. This is the best burr grinder I've found for the money, and I'm glad mine's still o.k.

perhaps remove the hopper (top) and inspect to see if a buildup of very fine compacted grounds as accumulated. knock the stuff loose.

I suffered with a stuck grider unti for a long time and just solved the problem..... Remove the filter basket and through the front door look up twords the back left. You can see where the grinder unit sits. There is a slot area where you can stick a screw driver under the grinder unit and pry it up. Do this in a jiggling motion and make sure you are well under the grinding unit, doing so on the edge of the grinder unit underneath will not give you enough suface to work with, in fact you will just bend or crack the edge. Looking in from low on the front (kneeling on floor with unit on counter, worked for me) will let you locate where the screw driver or smal pry tool needs to go. Mine was stuck for a very long time and No amount of pulling or prying from the top would work, I made it pop out in a matter of seconds using this technique from the bottom! Good luck, I'm going to finish my cup of coffee now! :-) Steve
