I keep getting low battery message while my 750 is plugged in?

It is very rare that it would be a problem with the Nuvi 750 GPS itself. This is because there are stationary gold pads on the bottom of the 750. No moving parts to wear out. We have seen problems with a bad plug on the charger that plugs into the cradle and the receptacle on the cradle can go bad as well. I would suspect more toward the cradle as we have seen the receptacles break away from the printed circuit board that is inside of the cradle. Best way to troubleshoot is to find a friend who has a duplicate charger and cradle and swap each piece, one at a time and see which resolves the problem... either the cradle is bad or the charger plug is bad. Call your Central Station and put your account on test if it is a monitored system.

Power down the system. Disconnect the battery, then the AC adapter. Then plug the battery in first, then the AC adapter. Plugging the AC adapter in first can cause the low battery message.

if that doesn't work, with the battery disconnected, measure the voltage of the battery with a multimeter. If it reads less than 5.4 volts, the battery is bad. Bad out of the box batteries are not too uncommon.

Next, check the charging voltage from the panel. Measure DC voltage from the leads that connect to the battery. They should read around 6 Volts DC. If the charging circuit is bad, it will cause a low battery trouble and the console will need to be repaired or replaced.

unplug the the power plug from side of radio and radio will switch to battery power,i had same LO message on my eton 750 but this stopped it

the battery is defective and needs to be replaced, if the battery is not any good then it won't work even when plugged to an outside power source, that is how this are set up, the battery is not user servicable, u must send it back to Garmin for replacement.

This is normally meaning that the batterey may be damaged or the terminals that the battery connects to may need cleaning or damaged so first unplu the unit and open adn remove the battery next get some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip and clean the terminals really good both on the battery and the unit it'self
next inspect the terminals really good and see if they are loose if so you will have to have it serviced
next inspect the plug in on the unit to see if it is loose and not getting a good connection
If every thing seems ok replace the battery and plug in every thing and try it out
and finally check the charger it'self and see if it is in good working order and replace it if it looks worn out or bad ok if you have your warranty you may be able to use it to get it repaired ok

you have one of three problems yes ethonal suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks buy some stabil ethonal treatment and run it every tank full. REPLACE THE PLUGS FIRST ALWAYS.if that doesnt work drain your carbs with drain srew take your tank off and make sure there is no water in it bet ya $20 its your plugs
