SOURCE: Kenmore model 110 washer will not drain at end of wash cycle

It could be the lid switch or the timer.

SOURCE: water draining problem

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.20702991&pathTaken=partSearch

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Newer model Whirlpool / Kenmore washers use a Lid Switch as a safety device. Unless the switch senses that the lid on the washer is closed, the washer will neither agitate nor spin.

Older models only used the switch during the spin cycle.

Try to bypass the Lid Switch by removing the Console and jumping the two outermost pins on the switch.

This is a Whirlpool PDF on how these washers operate. It has a diagram on jumping the switch as well as a detailed section on how the transmission works.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

It also has a troubleshooting guide.

To bypass the switch, you only have to disconnect the power to the washer, tilt the console back, unplug the switch and using an short piece of insulated wire, jump the two outermost contacts on the connector coming from the console and plug the washer back in.

Following is a description of how to gain access to the console and how to remove the cabinet if necessary.

With the jumper in place, try to re-start the washer.

If it works, the Lid Switch is a relatively inexpensive part and only requires you to access the console and remove the cabinet.

Have older kenmore dishwasher that goes through cycle but won't drain. Is there a filter somewhere?

No, there is no filter, but there is a check valve at the drain pump end of the dishwasher. Sometimes something gets stuck right there. The other place to check is where the drain hose goes into the garbage disposal - make sure it is clear there.

Why do soap suds remain in the bottom of my Kenmore, model #665.13113K701, dishwasher at the end of a cycle? I have run several cycles without soap and there still are suds remaining.

My guess being I have not physically seen it:
A.Improper install and the system is not draining properly.
B.Clogging in the drain pipe at the sink to the sewage system.
C.Failing draining pump.
D.Water softener issues.
E.Someone you have over is pranking you.

Kenmore dishwasher 16029 does not drain

There probably is something in the pump... sometimes you can take the drain hose off the sink end and run water backwards into the dishwasher and dislodge the problem...

Water does not drain

Hi

You can :

Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit

Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.

Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.

Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )

Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise

Check pump impeller for damage.

Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off.
Please contact for further clarifications.

Thanks

Kenmore Ultrawash QuietGuard 3 Dishwasher not draining or rinsing

Not draining may either need new drain motor. or something is blocking the drain pipe.

Spots on dishes means you are using to much detergent or the wrong kind of detergent.

Your owners manuel should tell you what type to use.

Hi Claire,
Are you using rinse aid?
that may help with the film.you may also have stuff down in the trap causing the water to drain slow.
