if its the original model number without an b at the end it is supposed to shut off, if it is the 4604b the added a feature to keep the fan running anytime power was on to keep it from burning up the power strip, this was a temporary fix, i just picked up a new on tonight under warranty and it has a feature that lets the fan run for a while and then shut off, the newest model number is HA24-50m, is is the same heater as original but now only has 5000w and 3000w options on switch, good luck finding a listing but this is the heater northern tools gives you when they replace the 4604. im pretty computer savvy and i can not find any site that is for profusion heaters as a company, here is a number for tech support you can call, 1-866-206-0888
This is not going to work in your golf cart. This is propane based heater with a pilot light. It will go out if you drive because of the wind blowing on it. I also believe all Mr. Heaters have a tip hazard turn off. I know the two I have do. If you really want heat in your cart I would recommend an extra battery, an inverter and a porcelain electric heater. Could be made to work very nicely in your cart.
The thermocouple has to be in contact with the flame at all times when pilot is lit, this heats up and sends mill-volts back to the safety valve to keep the gas on, if not it won't let the gas through, otherwise you need to clean the pilot or replace the thermocouple if everything else is ok..
The troubleshooting manual says low fuel, low fuel and cold weather and kinked supply line. Beyond this I would need to know if something happened to the unit like it fell over or was taken apart.
Our heater cuts off after 2 mins or less and it shoe 90 on the temps diplay. Had it for a couple of years. It's been vacuum and clean and still the same results. I don't have the schematic or the owners manual..
