Door lock is broke and the oven door won't close

Even if the oven door appears closed the "close door"signal flashes. The oven will not heat because the door lock is broke. This is because I used the self clean option then the door automatically locked. It remained locked and I used a hanger to wedge between the door and the frame to pry the lock open.... Unfortunately the lock snapped and the oven will not read that the door will not close.. It may or may not be closed all the way. The lock is dangling from the frame. It could be obstructing a proper close or a sensor could be moved. I don't know. Please tell me should I try and open her up? If so what are the steps to do so? Has any one else hath is issue before?

Oven door won't close

if you look around under the handle or under the top of the stove on the front there should be thin lever. This lever is designed to lock the oven door closed tightly when you are activating the self cleaning oven feature. It is likely that someone accidentally lock the lever while the door to the oven was open. Simply find that locking lever return it to the unlocked position and your door should shut fine.

The oven door won't close all the way. The "lock" light on the upper left is on. No amount of fiddling has solved this problem and oven is unusable. Help please!

Hi

The door lock assembly is bad and should be replaced, you can try to move it but that won't help and will have to be replaced to solve this issue. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

    5. When the cycle initiates, press the clear/off or cancel pad immediately to cancel it.

Locked door

Just inside the door but on the oven is a button. My husband pressed it and held it down while sliding the (center) lock to the left. That unlocked it.

Oven door will not close because the door lock is on and flashing, also the oven light won't go off. how do I fix the door lock flashing so I can close the oven door completly?

is not actuallly physically closing??? perhaps the lock/ latch has partially engaged prevetning door from closing, and with the door oopen it cannot do anything for safety reasons. can you see a door /light switch thtyou can depress by hand??? if so push and hold it in the light should go out, and at this point continue to hold in switch and try starting a self clean cycle ( dont worry it wont actually start cleaning right away)it then should activet the latch assy to fully engage and suppoedly lock door, still depressing the button then press thecancel button and the latch should return to the normal resting position and you can close the door

"Door Locked" flashing on GE Oven JTP15 - can't unlock

The problem may very well be in one of the micro switches on the self cleaning motor bracket. These switches control the electrical flow to the heating elements. In the owners manual there is/should be a chart that lists the unlock and safety combinations. This would be your best source of information.
