Xante envelope feeder won't lift

You have two (2) sensor that have to be made, the first one is on the bottom of the feeder and the other one is at the very top of or near the feed roller. When you block the bottom sensor the feeder should move up. If the feeder does not move up their is a problem with the cable that connect to the printer and the feeder or it could be the Motor control board that is inside the printer itself. I would check the connection first, covering the bottom sensor if it does not move up most likely the control board is bad. Also make sure that the feeder in position switch is also made by the feeder plate.

Paper jam & a 5110 error code on my 830MP

Error 5110 is a carriage lift error. The pr lift shaft is probably not rotating or the gear that drives it has broken teeth. now you mention paper jam. Ah thats it. I presume you had paper jammed in the machine and you pulled it out while it was under tension. Doing this will break not only the gear but the assy sheet feeder to. You will most probably need a new sheet feeder and the PR lift gear.
Alas you cannot fix this yourself and there is a special alignment that needs to be carried out between the gear and the sheet feeder. If they are not perfectly aligned the sheet feeder will strip its teeth from its gear and it will be scrap.
Do yourself a favour give it to Canon trained engineer and not just any old engineer. This is a specialist job i am afraid.

Good luck.

Paper feeds over 50% into printer, makes noises an stops. When I try to see the paper by lifting the lid, it's not there. It's as if its feeding into another area of the printer

One of the leading causes of paper jams is some sort of debris falling into the feeder. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Grab a flashlight and look into the feeder for any foreign objects. If you're willing and capable, carefully lift your printer upside down. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

HP OfficeJet J5780 Vertical Black Line Prints when copying or scaning only. Cleaned rollers and changed black ink cartrigde. Still problem.

Have you tried cleaning the document feeders Scan Glass? (small glass under doc feeder ~ 1" by 9") Most times there is dirt spot on this glass, causing a shadow on scans and copies.
Try copying from the large glass by lifting doc feeder / platen cover and manually placing original. If no line copying or scanning manually from large glass, then small scan glass is deffenitely the culprit. Hope this helps.

if using the feeder probably face up as it will likely pull the document in and invert it to lay face down on the scanning glass.

if you lift up the feeder (like lifting the top of a copy machine), then it would be face down on the glass.

there should be an image on the feeder illustrating how the document should be placed - if it looks like a page with lines on it with a bent corner then it is face up.

Feeder Issue

Open up the feeder, remove the two large chrome screws holding the beige cover and lift off. make sure nothing is blocking the rollers or switches. Further disassembly requires a Kyocera or Copystar technician.

Document feeder jams

Open the document feeder latch. Carefully lift the little carriage until you can see the two little grey rollers. Take a damp cloth and wipe them off as you manually roll them to wipe them clean all around. The problem is caused by accumulation of ink from the originals which makes these rollers slick and this is why they wont grip the paper. Hasta Luego!
