"A binding machine binds a stack of papers into a book or booklet. There are many kinds of binding machines, from those that use a spiral binding like a notebook to those that use glue like a hardcover book" (wiki.answers.com)
if its the thermal fuse your gonna get go or no go,, there is no in between, sounds to me like the motor is either binding and as you press it just heats up and stops, check the belt to the machine and see if its still aligned properly,, if not correct that problem, check for wear too
If might not be the thermal pot, it is possible it is the machine itself. If you have a candy or meat thermometer, place it in the pot as soon as the coffee has completed brewing. The temperature should be at 175-185 degrees. If it isn't, then the machine needs replaced. If the temperature is correct, then please call customer service with the model and date code to get the thermal carafe replaced. If the temp isn't correct, and it is 3 years old or less, the machine will be replaced for no cost. If it is over 3 years old, it can be replaced at a reduced price.
