SOURCE: I have a TCL L42M61AZ

A firmware update from TCL will fix the problem. Call them and they will send out the firmware and a serial cable (required for update) for free.
I did the update yesterday and it fixed the problem (sound but no picture).
You will need a PC or laptop with a serial port (RS-232).

I accidentally locked the channel of our tv and it was asking for a 4 digit password nobody know what the password is, how can we unlock the tv?

First of all, read the manual that came with it, and if you don't have the original, look online for it, and search for the default PIN number(usually 0000, or 1234). If it has been manually changed by a previous owner, try asking them. If that doesn't get results, see if there is a Master pin # for the TV, and enter that through your ORIGINAL TV remote. Sometimes Universal ones work, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I have an ex-hotel flatscreen Philips, and it took me ages to find out that it had a Master Remote, and a secondary one for guests, and the Master one could alter the functions, like lock out the HDMI plug(to discourage plugging in your laptop, and force you to watch PPV TV, oh, yay), and I finally tracked down the master unlock for it.
Another option is, if it's a digital TV box, contact the manufacturer, and see if they can help, in regards to resetting the unit to factory settings. It will mean you will need to retune your TV to get the channels, but at least you can then chose your own passcode.
Hope that helps, and cheers from New Zealand! ;)

PASS WORD PROBLEM

It is possibly a setting somewhere set when you did the re-tune, causing all of the channels tuned to be protected. try looking through your TV's settings for something that might help. Otherwise, we could really use a brand/model # to help you out any more.

How to retrieve lost channels on digital tv

To restore missing channels, you need to retune your digital receiver (box or TV).

The retuning process runs a scan and finds all the available channels. Your box may have an Add New Channels option that you can use, but this may not pick up other changes such as channels being moved to a different multiplex or removed altogether.
How to retune
  1. Switch on your digital box and/or TV.
  2. Press Menu on the remote control.
  3. Select the Setup or Installation option.
  4. Select the 'First time installation' option (sometimes called 'Factory reset', 'Full retune' or 'Default settings').
  5. Press OK if your equipment asks if you want to delete all your channels. Don't worry, this is normal.
  6. If you are prompted for a code, try 0000 or 1234.
  7. Channels will be automatically installed. This may take a few minutes and your equipment may shut down and restart.
  8. After retuning, you will have to redo your Favourites list and other settings. If you retune a digital TV recorder, you also should reset future recordings.

Problem retuning syncmaster 933hd tv

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.
