CANON PC760 COPIER PAPER JAM LIGHTS UP BUT NO PAPER JAM CAN BE FOUND

Hi, have the same problem as Repairman99. (Thanks for such a great description - enabled me to find the fault quickly). Found the spring lying loose and the broken hook piece. Tried re-attaching a spring as suggested but still has paper jam fault. I'm thinking I've got the tension in the spring wrong - how firm should it hold the metal bracken with the rollers? - John.

Paper jam???

Follow these steps :
1.1
Remove all paper from the trays. This will prevent further jams during the clearing.
2.2
Remove the covering to the printer's outer case to expose the jam. Locate the jammed paper to ensure there is not another problem causing the stall.
3.3
Pull gently on the jammed paper, taking care not to tear it. In most cases, this will remove the jam.
4.4
Press the flashing "Printer Jam" button. This will allow the rotors to turn and facilitate the release of the jam.
5.5
Turn off the printer and firmly pull on the jammed paper. Be careful not to tear it.
6.6
Remove remaining paper shreds. if a tear occurs, remove any residual paper that may hamper printing.
7.7
Refill the paper tray and try printing again. If the jam persists, repeat the process and search for more paper.

I got a paper jam. I can not get to the paper. I see a small bit a paper but I can not get to it. I can not open the rear access panel. I can not pull the jam from the front. How do I clear the jam out?

I removed the cartridge, pulled out the skewed paper and it ripped leaving a very small piece behind. This continued the notice 'paper jam'. I had to remove the two side springs, remove the two star headed screws nearby the springs and prise up the grill to remove the paper shred. Replace everything and the error message is gone and printer normal.

Paper jam indicator will not go out...no paper jam found

Hello sir; sometime paper jam right in the begining when it try to pick up the paper from the tray, you not going to see the paper, only thing you can do is pull out the tray reset the paper and push back again, if still jam, then you better clean up the paper pick roller.

Paper jam and 2 found springs

Those 2 springs should be re-installed, they should be put back in place in the paper guide assembly in the back they should be there to apply pressure to the feed rollers so the paper will feed.

2 small springs broke off on bar above paper tray

mate, printers are cheaper than ink cartridges nowadays.

i wouldn't bother repairing it,

Use it as a backup scanner and fax maybe, buy yourself another for a few bucks,

it's the dell inks that cost a fortune, so try buying another series 5 and use your inks

usually it means that a sensor in your fuser is bad. If you have a P.M. Kit replaced the fuser and clean the printer.

but before you do, make sure that you have cleared all jams, including in the fuser.

Its probably time for a Preventive Maintanence

Paper jam

I too have this infuriating problem and the reason has already been pinpointed very well it is indeed the front rubber pinch cam not grabbing the paper well. I have approached this problem from another angle... under the front sprung loaded flap on the paper tray
there are two compression springsapprx 1/2" in dia. Gently prise apart the 2 flap pivot (on the extended arms) to gain access to the springs ,pull out the springs and either replace them with slightly stronger ones or pull the existing springs apart to retension them and pop them back (long-nosed pliers or tweezers) this will restore the spring tension lost during use with the rubber pinch cam.
