Re: How to program T1

This is far too complex a topic to be handled here. I would highly suggest finding a local installation company to do this type of work.

Power source

A Nortel Key Service Unit, an ICS (MICS,CICS), BCM (50,100 etc), Norstar (308,616,824), an Avaya IP Office running Nortel cards, or there is another company that makes a Nortel emulation key system but I can't recall what it is right now.

How do you program this phone?

You don't. You can use the phone to program the SYSTEM, but the phone has very little programming inside.

Since the phone is connected to one of 3 possible systems, you need to search for the Key Service Unit, then get the manual for it. (MICS, CICS, BCM).

If you're clever enough, start with this page and look at the tabs

How can I get the dial tone turned back on without lifting receiver? I want to be able to lift the phone and answer without pushing Line 1

To answer a ringing line by just lifting the handset that phone has to be programmed to ring on that line. This is done in the programming mode under 'terminals&sets/show set__/Line Access/Line assignment/Show line:__/...then your choices are: Appear and ring,Appear only, or Unassigned. Choose appear and ring on each line you want to answer from that telephone. Hope this helps.

Can't reset time/can't answer line two from my phone

To change the time, the code is "feature**time" The password is "basic". As for the line 2 "feature*0" then press each line button and see if line 2 is programmed on your phone. If it is there, is it programmed to ring? If you can access the line outbound, then you should be able to push the button to answer it inbound. Hope this helps.

How do I turn on a Norstar M7310 telephone?

The M-7310 is self booting. If it is wired back to the phone system it should start flashing the LED's as soon as you plug it in. The wiring is standard 1 pair of wires on the center 2 pins of the jack. They are proprietary and will only work behind a Norstar telephone system. To see if it is a bad phone, swap it out with a working one at another location. Hope this helps

We have lost power a couple times this week and our system had reset, losing our third line and voicemail greeting will not prompt when suppose to. We still have out greeting, it is just not picking up.

What type of System is it? Norstar systems default to 2 lines if they loose memory (which isn't supposed to happen). That being said, I recently had had to replace an old Norstar 616 that would not hold memory after a power outage. I took the KSU apart and could not find any internal battery to replace. I'm guessing some kind of capacitor ?? In any case the system had to be replaced. Bill C. We also do remote programming on Norstar CICS ans MICS.

StarTalk Flash is 1.7.00 + caller ID

The Star Talk Flash is a voice mail prduct. The caller ID feature is a phone system feature. If your system is a norstar CICS or a MICS the caller ID will work only if you have the caller ID capable central office circuit packs installed. Look on the card and see if the label has "CLID". If it dose there is also additional programming required for each set under.... terminals &sets/telco features/featue assignments/show line/caller ID...set:Y. You also have to program (under sets) /telco features/caller ID: Y.

Hope this helps.

Like the others who have posted on here, I too have a Norstar M7310 phone that gives the incorrect time. I have followed all the websites instructions on how to correct this, but none of the standard...

If feature ** 266344 with a password of 266344 didnt work you can also try feature ** 266344 with the password of 23646 or the password of 727587.
