Is it easy to get to the circuit board and how on the Westinghouse Virtuoso dishwashers?

Please mention the nature of the fault seen on the machine. It is possible that a failure of the main circuit board means that in most case the board had to be replaced as there is very little that be done for component replacement except if the damage is clearly visible.

Like to remove the control panel

    • 1 Turn the breaker switch for the dishwasher to the "off" position at the breaker box before attempting to remove the dishwasher panel.
    • 2 Locate the screws on the lower access panel and unfasten them with a screwdriver, setting the screws out of the way.
    • 3 Detach the control console from the top of the front panel by unfastening the screws underneath the console with a screwdriver and setting the screws aside.
    • 4 Find the screws at the bottom of the front panel and unfasten them with a screwdriver, allowing the panel to slide down. Take the panel off the front of the dishwasher.

Only light that will come on is heated dry

I have the same dishwasher. I have found that this dishwasher had a control panel problem. After the dishwasher finishes washing you will noticed that the small green lights stay illuminated. Over time this causes the wire ribbon that connects the control panel to the circuit board to become burnt. I have already replaced my control panel once and now it has done it again. i am about to have to order another control panel. That is going to be another $140 dollars out of pocket. The part number for the control panel is( AP4365240). If you have the same dishwasher as I do it should be correct, Open the front door and look on the inside left and you will see the model of the dishwasher. Mine is MDC4650AWB1 Yours may be slightly different. look on the front of the control panel to see if it reads from left to right. High temp wash or extra rinse, sanitize, heated dry, start/cancel, delay, and cycle select. Since the dishwasher is designed poorly and the lights do not go off after drying, if you can after the dishwasher finishes with it's washing and drying be sure to open the door for about 2 min and the lights will go out by themselves. Then you can close it back. This will allow your dishwashr to last longer without the wires burning out. To verify that it is the control panel after you carefully remove it take a look at the wire ribbon that runs from the control panel to the circuit board. Here is a quick class on how to remove the control panel. open the door and on both sides you will find 4 star tip screws. remove them and seperate the door from the backing. After that you will need a socket to remove some hex tip screws that holds the control panel to the door. be sure to remove the black box that contains the circuit board. take the cover off and carefully disconnect the wires. the wire ribbon that connects the control panel is a little tricky. You have to seperate the plastic connector block and the ribbon will slide right out. after you remove it go to and you will be able to order the part online to replace it. Be careful not to drop any of the screws and also pay attention to the door latch when you move it to the side while you work so that you do not break it.

My dishwasher by Frigidaire Gallery Professional Series Model gpd8998jc0 has all lights flashing and could not be started. I smelled burning from dishwasher. Could it be motor burning?

it could be the motor depending on where it's coming. You can remove the lower panel, there are only two screws that hold it on. Look under their and inspect the motor.

Another part that could cause this issue is the mother board. The board is located behind the control panel. Remove the screws around the door frame to loosen and remove the control panel.

On most of these you also have to remove the plastic shielding that cover the control board. To do so remove the three or four screws that mount the board down.

Often these control boards will burn and create a smell like this.

Let me know.

Westinghouse virtuoso fridge/freezer has stopped cooling. How do we check the fuses etc? seals on the doors are all fine.

I have the same fridge (stainless steel virtuoso) and when the fridge section stops cooling you have to turn power off. Then remove everything from the freezer including the shelf. Next get a pointy object and remove the two plastic screw covers located on the back inside plastic freezer panel, Next remove the two phillips head screws securing the panel in place. Next (and this is a little tricky) get two solid forks and lever the back interior panel off, thereby exposing the cooling system of the fridge. Next get a hairdryer and completely defrost this item, and then reassemble. Switch power back on and your fridge will be fixed, and cooling like a champion! plus you have saved hundreds by not paying ripoff "technicians" I have to do this every six or seven weeks because of the high humidity here in Darwin, the freezer is "frost free" but the cooling system still ices up, and this is what blocks airflow and stops the fridge cooling.

Turn power off this avoids water solinoid valve opening.
Locate the filter housing righthand side under master mind control panel on topshelf next.
Remove light cover by pushing bottom rear up and gently pullout.
Unscrew filter cover looks like upside down juicer. There should have been a special white plastic spanner which came with the refrigerator.
Pull filter element down.
Install new element by firmly pushing up.
Screw filter cover in gently don't over tighten.
Turn power on and operate water dispenser to remove air and check for leaks
