SOURCE: Won´t read any Disc

I have the same problem since the early beginning after purchase. I'm very upset with NAD for the zero-value technical service in Italy. After 2 months they gave me back my C541 with new defects (the tray now doesn't work properly). They have tried - they said - different optics without fixing the problem. Does anybody know if a compatible optic / tray exists?
Thank you

SOURCE: i have nad c541i,for last

this has the sony mechanism so if you take the lid off and unscrew the 2 screws, 1 at either end of the cd clamp and remove it, you should see part of a large cog just under the front of the cd tray, try turn this clockwise and the tray should open.
once open, you should be able to see a small plastic cover, loosen this slightly and replace the belt as this is prone to slipping on this mechanism stopping it clamping the disc properly when closed.
the sound you say is the spindle motor, is actually the loading motor trying to lift the whole laser mechanism up towards the puck to clamp the disc as there is not enough tension left in the belt.
help it along by hand and you'll see what i mean.

hope this helps?

When i insert a CD, it won't accept it, "disc error" appears. What is the solutions.

hello there soenensistva
Well first of all Compact discs are easy to be read by a DVD player then ordinary Cd player cause of their lens are made for more compressed Data discs..there for try some of the options

1. make sure that the disc Surface is Clean and don't have finger prints or any other material that is disturbing the the read process between the CD and lens present inside CD player

2.if your CD is precious for you ( that consist some important Data you may need ) then try a DVD player for that

3.if both things doesn't work try a cleaning Cd for Cleaning the Head of CD player .

i wish that your problem may be solved

WON'T PLAY CD'S READS "NO DISC"

  • Check the disc you're using for scratches and dirt. If the disc is damaged it won't play properly, regardless of the CD player's ability to function. You can use a CD repair device like the "Disc Doctor" to repair the CD or purchase a new CD.

  • Clean the laser lens with a CD laser lens cleaning disc. CD laser lens cleaning discs can be purchased at most electronics retailers or online. Insert the laser lens cleaning disc and follow the instructions.

  • Insert a correctly-formatted, undamaged disc into your player. Listen to see if it begins to read the disc. If it continues to make no sound and gives you the same message, then the problem is probably that your disc is not spinning in the device.

  • Clean the lens while the DVD player is open. A dirty lens is most likely the cause of your no-disc error. The lens should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.

My NAD cd/dvd T550 displays NO DISC.

I have the same problem. When I insert a disk, my NAD T 550 DVD player displays 'No Disc'. It started with new disks while still reading older disks, but at some time it stopped recognizing any disk. Did you receive any suggestion yet or has anyone a suggestion?

    No disc present

Try running a cleaner disc in the unit if that doesnt work try the following.

Starting at my computer... Right click on my computer icon.

    Go to properties.

Then Hardware tab then go device manager. Right click on cdrom in device list. Select uninstall then reboot the computer. If this doesn't help replacing the unit will be necessary.

How to burn from TV onto DVD

Idealy would be to have a DVD-recorder, so you can record TV program (and signal from other sources, of course). Also, you can program it by timer to record TV program. You can by DVR with hard disc, or cheaper without HD and record it to DVD+/-RW (you can rewrite it up to 1000 times).

    Discs will not play.

Could be some dirt on laser lenses. Try to clean it.
