Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDK02CRBS Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

Dishwasher not cleaning

My kitchenAid Model KUDK02CR is not cleaning. The bottom will fill up with water but nothing else is happening. Dishes are still dirty. When I open it is hot inside. It will run thru the whole cycle and nothing. Does not sound like the blades are spinning. I have taken the bottom filter screen out to make sure there was no food blocking anything and it was clear. If i hit cancel the bottom will drain and if it runs thru the whole cycle the bottom drains and there is not water in the bottom. Is the motor bad possibly?

Remove the panel at the base of unit below door you should find the tech sheet which will tell you how to place unit into diagnostic, on the spray arms make sure the small holes are clean below the lower spray arm is a screen make sure it is clean not covered or cake with calcium build up if it clogged water cannot pass thru to enter the wash pump you can also remove the screws to take the upper halve apart to inspect the wash pump for any obstruction it is possible you could have a bad motor control or both you didn't mention after the unit fills do you hear the wash pump hum or click

Testimonial: "Thanks Ron. I did the diagnostic. There is a hum then a click the a hum again. Sounds like you said could be both pump and motor. Not sure if it is worth fixing or just buy a new one."

The problem is very likely in the chopper and/or somewhat possible in the impeller. The chopper is replaceable from the front. Disassemble the pump, the chopper will be on its left side under a cover. That cover is kinda tricky to remove (remove all torx screws you can find, push the thingy on the top of cover with flat screwdriver to the right, slightly pulling it up).
The impeller used to be a replaceable part, and is no longer available separately, so you'd have to replace the whole motor assembly. To get to it - pull dishwasher out and lay it down on its back (or on its side, if there's no water in it)

Dishwasher does not clean dishes completely model # kudso3ftss3

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

Dishwasher runs but does not get dishes clean

1.) Confirm that the holes of the spray arms are not blocked with debris.
2.) Run a short cycle with an empty dishwasher and no dishwasher soap. Run the dishwasher until you hear it finish filling with water and begins the wash cycle. Add up to two cups of white vinegar to the water and allow to wash and drain. Feel free to do the same when the dishwasher fills again.
3.) Only use a brand name powder detergent (e.g. Electrosol or Cascade) in any dishwasher. Do not use a gel or tablet in any dishwasher. Do not fill the dispenser fully.
Test your dishwasher with a standard load of dirty dishes.
If problems continue, confirm that the heating element is working properly. The heating element is vital to getting clean dishes with modern dishwashers and DW detergent.
Please report back what you find.
