My wireless g notebook notebook card will not connect

You need to install the drivers, compatable with the Operating System on your computer, for the wireless card to work.

You can connect it through your router with a cat-5 line but unless the laptop has a wireless card and installed you can't connect wireless.

You may use the System restore utility on windows by going to all programs then Accessories... Open system Tools and then System Restore. You may resotre your system to an earlier time, time when you are still able to connect to your router wirelessly.

Seems ur trying to connect to internet using WIFI and not a cable.
Then in this case u need to set up ur wireless connection

check DEVICE MANAGER if the wireless card have the right driver installed. if you found that the wireless card have yellow exclamation point on the right it means, you installed a wrong driver.

check also in BIOS if the wireless card is enable and the switch is turn on.

press Fn+F2 to enable wireless radio/anthena (funtion key with wireless icon in blue color)

some dell laptop have hard switch located right side check this and turn the switch on.

if you want to see the icon n task bar, go to control panel....network connection...right click on wireless adapter...select properties...check Show on taskbar

Click on the above link and select the approprite wireless card driver and install and restart the computer.

Yes, most wireless cards will slide into an available slot on the side of the laptop. This slot is a feature that is an option on most dell laptops. if you purchased a fully loaded laptop form dell, you should have this wireless internet slot located on one of the sides of this laptop.

try uninstalling it and re-installing it. the problem may be with its drivers.

So u can connect to the router, but you arent allowet to access the internet?
The router gave your dell a new ip-number, but it dident gave you access to the net. You ned to do the settings in your router manual, let the router give your dell full access.
