I can't print anything HL-2142 - Brother HL 2140 Laser Printer

Try switching the printer off & then switching it back on. If it doesnt work, re-install the printer drivers.

This typically means that the RAM is going bad. When you send a large series of documents to the printer, it stores them all in RAM until they print. This means that whatever is within the bad section of the RAM as it is being cueued, will come out corrupted/gibberish.
Try removing some side panels to find the Primary Control Board. This is where the RAM should be. See what the RAM type is and/or if it can be replaced. Be sure to match the existing RAM manufacture.

Hi,

This error may occur due to 2 reasons.
1. Faulty usb cable or corrupted USB drivers
2. Glitch in O/s ( your pc operating system

I would like to know the operating system you are using or setting up this printer on.

Try these steps.
Try changing the usb cable. Connect with another cable. If this does not work, Connect it to another USB port on the PC

You open your printer (use your manual to correctly do this)

check all paper paths to see if any paper is stuck

Next take out the toner and drum and check again for any stray scraps of paper that may have been stuck there.

Also open the paper tray and look inside there to see if anything is stuck there.

If your printer has a single sheet tray check there too

If your printer has a back opening, check there too

I recomend that you also purchase "paper path cleaning sheets" to keep the unit clean and paper jam free (once a week if you print constantly and twice a month if a casual user)

NEVER NEVER NEVER get mad and RIP out stuck paper. Such an action will break internal mechanisms inside your laser printer.
