Reboot and select proper boot/ black screen bios

I recently bought an ASUS essentio i3. Worked great for one night. shut it down to go to sleep and woke up the next morning to play some games. when i turned it on i saw the main start screen that allows you to open BIOS. after that i got a message staing that i needed to reboot and select a different boot device. Naturally, i reset it and tried to open BIOS. After pressing f2, a black screen appeared with absolutely nothing on it. waited 15 minutes just to be safe and nothing. i have checked all the cables/hardware in my PC, but everything is secure and where it should be.

Boot Problem in my ASUS Eee PC 900 netbook

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

My asus desktop with windows vista will not start up. I keep getting a black screen that tells me reboot and select proper boot device or insert media? What is wrong?

It means your system is trying to boot from somewhere other than your hard drive. Make sure you don't have a CD in the CD/DvD Drive. Also when you boot your system pay close attention to which key it says you can hit to change the boot sequence or boot order and which key it says you can select to go into the Bios or Setup. Boot the system the go into the BIOS or Setup. Go to the tab that allows you to select your boot order. Make sure your Hard Drive is selected as the first boot device. Try rebooting after saving and making this change.

Help with reboot message for Asus G1 notebook.

Sounds like its trying to boot from the Optical drive (cd/dvd drive) thats empty or has no disc in it. You will need to get into the BIOS and change the boot sequence. Select HDDR 1st to boot from your C: drive where your OS is.

Try going into os options mode by pressing power button on and escape repeatedly until OS options of normal or emergency! repair mode select one of them. Sudden power shut down doesn't let the desktop save the restart information properly.

When you reboot, go to BIOS, restore factory BIOS settings. If that doesn't help, you'll need to reinstall your OS.
