Question about BenQ W100 DLP Projector
There is something getting in the way, between the lamp and the lens, I guess, that is visible, as a shadow. This shadow is not covering the complete image. I thought it was that circle in front of the lamp (filter I guess), so I rotate it manually, the shadow shift to another position; I can't manage to make it disappear, because but it is shifting every time I move the projector. What can I do? Is there any repairing guide? Many thanks

it might be dusty enough to hold in the heat. it needs a good cleaning. use canned air. if you still have an issue, the fans might be running too slow or the thermister (temp sensor) may be faulty. sometimes if it gets too hot in there, the thermister needs to be replaced, too.

if the cables are new, reset the settings to factory default to make sure the resolution matches. if there ia still an issue, replace the main board.

SOURCE: a shadow on the picture
The shadow could be caused by a dust partical that is trapped. You could try to dislodge it with an air duster or a vacuum with a soft brissel attachment

Testimonial: "Many thanks! To be more precise, this shadow is translucent and cast mostly some sort of geometric forms, like it was a folded cellophane. Anyway, can you you tell me please where should I clean exactly?"
