I have small dots of excess toner on the envelopes. It is beginning to drop excess Cyan and Magenta little dots in a pattern across the sheet where they are not supposed to be. What is causing this?

SOURCE: toner disappears!

ok, this issue is not toner related actually. the toner bottles you have removed, I am sure still feel the weight of a nearly full one.
The issue, is most likely, the Image Drum, the toner volume, is actually measured by toner flow resistance by a device within the Image Drum, I can explain it in detail, but will take a page..
toner cartridges, only have a chip transmitter in then, that tell the machine a code when it is first installed into the machine, this resets the toner volume processor only, then the yoner flow resistance inside the Image Drum signals the processor as to how the toner is travelling..
Replace the Drum, and then enjoy using all those almost full toners...

SOURCE: I print black most of

Hi,
According to your problem first clean the cartridge head properly. Check the nozzles and clean it also. Check the printer settings in printer properties. Change the document type in letter or as your requirement. Keep best qualities printing in settings. Check the printing resolution. Make sure that your document is OK and there is no fault. After resetting of printer do not forget to reboot your printer and system both. Always use good quality paper.

Magenta toner does not print, printer says its full. Worked just fine until I opened the drum unit to clean drum with q-tip (I am getting black dots all along the page). After that, the magenta stopped...

Take the toner cartridge out and try to turn the Developer roller ( the toner coated roller), if it doesn't turn you have a faulty cartridge. If the cartridge is OK, recheck the Magenta drum to see if the thin corona wire has been broken. You will need to remove the Cyan toners to get to the corona wire cover. If is damaged or broken, the whole drum will have to be replaced.

Excess cyan toner is on electrostatic transfer sheet even after wiping it. All black and white pages are printed with cyan background.I am even using original cartridges.

Since you have Cyan toner in places where it should not be then the only possible cause is a defective Cyan Toner cartridge. I worked on one just last week where the customer complained about Magenta toner on their prints. I also noticed Magenta toner on the Transfer Belt just as you see Cyan toner on the Transfer Belt. I replaced the Magenta Toner Cartridge and everything cleared up nicely. The Transfer Belt Unit can also cause similar problems but it would not be ONLY one color like Cyan. It would be a mixture of all colors. My bet is replace the Cyan toner and you will be fine. If you have an old empty one just shake it up a bit and try it as well. This might allow you to verify before buying a new cartridge.

My CP2025 is printing tiny colored dots on my pages...what do I need to do?

You will most likely need to change what ever toner cartridge that is the same color as the dots. So if the dots are pink change the magenta. If they are blue change the cyan. Most of the time these dots are a result of the toner cartridges drum having a pit or similar defect in it. Changing the toner cartridge will take care of this.

Ink is smudged on envelope. How do I stop that from happening?

i bet you're printing in Black,
what happens is when black is selected, the 3 colored drums lift up 2 mm annd only the K drum is engaged, amd there is no static in the transfer belt under the CMY drums.
envelopes have air in them and can bounce along the bely after the black has printed, and seeing the toner is powder and not yet fused on, the toner touches the cyan drum as the envelope hits the fuser entry point as well as dragging on the Left transfer belt Blue lift handle(take out the belt and spring the handle off).
If you open the lid in this print mode, and lift out the cyan drum, turn it over and pull back the cover for the OPC drum, you will see the black toner on the green drum.
FIX 1. In the art work place a tiny dot of yellow. this will run the print mode in color and enagage all the drums. gaurantee your print will be fine, and know one ever sees that yellow dot.Problem is, this then runs down your CMY drums for black only printing.

FIX2.
If you have a later machine, downlaod iQueue from Xante.com (free) fantastic software. and get the machine updated with the latest X1.11 firmware from your dealer.
This allows with iQueue, to set the machine to print Black only, and you run the machine without the CMY drums installed....it works, it's great...

Laserjet 4700 only prints magenta

Ok, The fact that the cyan was working and stopped after you adjusted the frame and the magenta started leads me to think the HV was OK to begin with the cartridges were just not making contact. When you adjusted the frame you were likely moved the magenta into position but the cyan out of position.

I would go back to the side you adjusted to correct the problem.
see if the toner in the slots that don't work have excess movement side to side.
See if you can shim them over with folded paper so they would push against the HV contacts. If this works you would have to adjust that frame again make sure it is straight and will hold all the cartridges against the contacts.

The fact that the frame was bent to begin with scares me a little.
perhaps the machine was dropped.
You will also want to check the lase scanner assemblies make sure they are all installed properly.
Hope this helps

Are you using HP toner?
Pull out the cartridges and vacuum out the printer. Get a compressor or canned air and blow the printer out. Vacuum again,
Install HP toner and try printing again.

Images very magenta-y

Possibility of low toner.
Not the magenta, but when every other color has run out, things do start seeming a little red.

You are spilling blue toner. Try to vacuum out the excess blue toner from the machine. Be careful not to scratch the transfer belt.
