Question about Panasonic KX DT343-B Digital phone - Black
When the phone rings, the caller id shows the message of 601 icd group 001 rather than the callers name and number.

SOURCE: CALLER ID
the caller may have with-held their number, either as a one-off, or as a feature, or perhaps your phone company has a fault on their caller Id equipment.....does this happen with all calls, has it only just started happening ?

Since it appears by default, I'm guessing that the phone is not ringing. It has to ring to display CID. You need to make sure that it is part of an ICD group with Immediate ring.

SOURCE: Caller ID Display
There is no setting in the phone that will show you the Caller ID number without the name. It sounds like your telephone company is not sending the name.

Since CID display to the phone comes from the Panasonic phone SYSTEM, you might try looking inside the cabinet to see if it has a caller ID card. The part ends in 93.
It also requires some programming. If you post your model number, I might have a CID card if yours is missing.

Tips for a great answer:
Jan 15, 2013 | Lucent PARTNER18 Corded Phone
This feature lets you know who is calling
without looking at the display.
To use this feature, you must:
- subscribe to a Caller ID service of
your service provider/telephone
- turn this feature on (page 24).
When caller information is received, the
handsets and base unit announce the
caller's name or phone number received
from your service provider/telephone
company following every ring.
The unit announces in English only.
L Name pronunciation may vary. This
feature may not pronounce all names
L Caller ID service has a limit of how
many characters can be displayed. If
the caller's name is too long, the
handset may not be able to display or
announce the entire name.
L The announcement is heard at the
same level as the ringer volume (page
L If you turn on the answering system
and set the number of rings "2
rings" (page 36), the unit does not
announce the caller information. If
"Toll saver" is selected and there
is a new message, the unit does not
announce the caller information.
