Hoover U6485900 vacuum. The brushes never stop turning even when the cleaner is in the upright position. I have adjusted the cable that attaches to the actuator arm and nothing seems to change.

The idler arm assembly with the pulley puts tension on the V belt to turn the brushroll, if the idler arm isn't releasing the tension properly the brushroll will keep spinning even with the handle forward. Inspect this area to see if you can find what could be causing the belt to not release tension.

I have a 4hp stanley wet dry vac, and when i try to **** up liquid i have no suction, and no longer have the manual

Locate the three tabs on the float cage where it snaps to the top/motor. Use a flat head screw-driver to gentle pry back each tab and pull the float cage off. In the middle under the motor, is a round hole about 1 inch diameter. Inside it is a fiber filter. with the screw driver gently pull out the fiber filter. It\'s about an inch diameter. Wash it well, and replace it over the impeller and now that baby will suck.

I have a Stanley 4.0 peak HP wet/dry vacuum without any instructions. How do I empty it when it is full?

Usually with this type of vacuum the the top motor part unclips then tip the base unit over into an outside drain.

Hoover self propelled U6630900 idler arm lock

Remove the bottom plate (4 screws), remove belts and brush roller. There may be 1 small screw in the center front of the vac under the brush roller. remove this one. If this is a bagless model you will also need to remove all of the back screws (torx) that hold the lower hose on. This needs to be removed to take the hood off. underneath on each side of the power drive assembly you will have 1 screw, remove them. there is a clip on each side that snaps the front on, push them out with a screwdriver. Then the hood is removed.

First put the gasket on the spacer, thin end to to out, push it down all the way on the motor shaft, then put the nylon washer on, then the fan, metal washer and then the pulley, just snug it, (don't tighten too much just beyond hand tightening). Put the casing, top and handle back on.
