There is a solution here: Why are Java applications blocked by your security settings

However I feel compelled to point out that following the instructions found on this page near the bottom will make your computer less secure.

So I add the old addage "Do this at your own risk."

I can not play my pinochle game it keep saying there is a security setting block/

the connection is being disallowed by your firewall or the site address is on a Black List of your malware defender. (like Spybots "Immunize" list of known malware sites). You may want to look around if things don't open up when you allow the outbound connection by the game engine since there will be a specific reason that they are "blocked".

Security blocked

You either blocked by the firewall on your computer (or the one on the network you are using). If you don't have administrator rights to it then you can't do anything about it. If you do, then disable the firewall and/or anti-virus to see if they are the cause.

Setting security

Hi Marlene,
Yahoo games use TCP Port 11999 for communication.
Case 1: (If the security settings on the router is blocking)
Kindly forward this TCP port number 11999 on your router to your computer's private ip address.

Case 2: (If the personal firewall in your computer is blocking)
Kindly check the documentation of your personal firewall how to define exception for this traffic.

Note: If you could provide more information of your router and the environment, I would be able to assist you more.

Kindly rate this answer if it is helpful.

Please make sure Javascript is enabled, then look for the following settings in your browser:

• Browser add-ons or extensions that block pop-ups or Javascript
• Security software such as Norton or McAfee, or other virus scanning software
• Other 3rd party web-assistance applications such as toolbars or firewall packages that block pop-ups

To locate 3rd party applications that may be causing conflicts:

1. Click the Start menu in Windows
2. Click on Programs
3. Look for above types of applications (McAfee, Norton, Symantec, ZoneAlarm, etc.)

If you are unsure as to how to disable the security software, please contact the manufacturer of the applications you have installed on your computer.

Yahoo messenger unable to download files needed for installation

Check your computers security settings. Do this: control panel>internet options>security. once there, set the security settings to med. (remember where the settings are. after you download the files you want, then go back in there and put the settings as they were. reboot your computer. If need be, turn off fire wall and do the same thing. Also, enable Java Applets in Internet Options. Good Luck! BRUTUS X

Hi currently living back at folks and have an annoying brother who keeps using my computers and game consoles he just broke 1tb harddrive and lost all data so i need to password protect everything is there...

Advice pinched from:

To put a password on your Wii,
Go to wii Options>Wii Settings
push the + button, and click parental Controls
Click yes and make a 4 digit pin number that's easy for you to remember, but nothing that someone could easily guess. (like the year you 1st joined a team or something) push OK, enter it again and push ok.
Choose a secret question, like what they ask you to choose when you start a new account somewhere (mother's maiden name, your place of birth, etc.) push ok and type in the answer to that question and push ok.
click "game settings and PIN" and (finally) to block one from playing games, change the "highest game rating allowed" option to something low (preferably early childhood so one wont be able to play ANY games without your permission) by pushing the down icon. hit ok, confirm, and "settings complete".

when you go to play a game, it will ask for the PIN everytime, which will eventually be a pain in the neck, but at least you'll know your games are safe

I cannot access yahoo anymore!! Yahoois my email account, but when I go to I cannot get to my mail account or anything else "jronmeikle". This account is several years old. I just...

Just check your tools>internet options>security and make sure the site isnt blocked.

Also check your virus control/security under internet security and settings and make sure it isnt blocked there. That is what it sounds like to me. If you can get everything else, it looks like yahoo has gotten blocked from you.
