Hp cptoh 0603 no picture

We have the CPTOH-0603. Manufactured in Nov. 2006. The picture suddenly disappeared. After turning it off and back on, there at first appeared bright, pulsing lines, but then nothing. Sound is unaffected, but now the screen is totally black.

SOURCE: Problem with picture on HP Plasma TV

hello!
This is known problem with PDP displays. That means: one of X-buffers has bad connection to the PDP(plasma display). Or, in some cases, depend on PDP type, it could be panel itself at fault. You need to open your set carefully and get an access to X-buffers. Usually, at the very bottom of PDP, covered with aluminum heat sinks. By turning set on, while face down, start tapping slightly with isolated handle of medium size screwdriver. Observe, when line(s) vanished. That's where connection(ribbon cable) between PDP and X-buffer is compromised.
In some PDPs, those integrated into panel itself and nothing you can do, except to live with that or replace panel. Hope, you end up just reconnecting ribbons. Anyway, you must have very good technician background to do so.
good luck,
Alex.

On my CPTOH-0603, i'm getting great picture but no sound. Just have antenna hookup directly. Would I need a receiver for the sound to come on? Or maybe not hooking it right.

the antenna is getting a good picture and as sound and picture are bound from transmission I am thinking that there is a problem in the sound board/ section of the tv

No picture or sound

It sounds to be the problem of the fuse .

Replace fuse in your tv will solve the problem .

My hp CPTOH-0602 was flickering and then stopped and now the screen is dark with a big black area in the top left corner

it was a screen back light failure, the lamp get busted in the upper portion of the panel display. to access this part you will need to remove the back cover using a philip screw driver. the back light is covered with metal shielding.to replaced the back light, be careful in disassembling the cover not to damaged the lcd screen panel.
