SOURCE: Kodak Carousel 600 Projector - mechanism stops with slide out

Open the back up and spray just a LITTLE bit of WD-40 into the cavity where the bit of spring emerges from the grease covered cam shaft. This will loosen up the grease that has dried up. It may take up to half an hour to work on the grease. If things are improved but not perfect, repeat. If any WD-40 spills out, mop it up with Q-tips and especially avoid the rubber belt.

Please do NOT advance things manually ans especially don't pry apart any of the plastic or metal cams on the cam shaft in an effort to correct the timing. You will put it out of waht and it will take a whack of time and/or an expert to get it back in whack!

SOURCE: Kodak Carousel 760H wont advance or reverse

Yeah. I like the $15 fix better. Go to Ebay and search for "Kodak Carousel Projector Advance Repair Kit". Before you purchase you can diagnose, and it comes with detailed instructions. The same guy also has a kits for other common problems, as well as the "tune up kit". Or you can buy the Solenoid Link, directly and try it without detailed instructions.

SOURCE: my carousel tray will not

I'm assuming you are talking about a Kodak Slide Projector. If this is so, and it hasn't been used in at least 10 years, then it is probably an earlier-produced model. If the fan & lamp work and just the slides don't advance, then chances are you have a broken solenoid "link". This "link" joins the Cycle Solenoid and the Slide Change Mechanism together. As the projector ages, the link (made of plastic) gets hard, brittle & cracks. This will, in literally one slide change, make the projector go from working to not working.
Parts are still available (www.micro-tools.com), but this repair should not be tackled by the untrained. I recommend you contact a factory-trained dealer to make the repair.

SOURCE: will not change slides forward/backward, remote focus ok,

Your problem is most likely caused by a broken wire under the control panel or a wire somewhere in the "cycle circuit" that is no longer connected. You should seek out a factory-trained repair dealer who has a schematic that can trace down your projector problem.

SOURCE: Kodak Carousel 760H wont advance or reverse

You have jammed the slide change mechanism. Turn the projector off. Remove the tray using the emergency release slot in the center hub of the projector. Turn the projector on and cycle it a few times in reverse, then in forward. That usually clears a mechanism jam.

Make sure that you connect a cable (usually the USB cable is supplied with the projector ) from the computer to the projector. Once communication is established, normal PPT slide advancing is done by pressing the up/down arrow keys (depending on the remote control layout)

Slides continue to advance,wont stop

The continuous cycle is caused by the slide change clutch contact. This contact is either burned off from excessive use or has somehow moved out of correct adjustment. I have attached an image that might help you identify correct alignment. For parts, contact: www.micro-tools.com

Kodak 650 slide projector that won't advance the slides with remote

Don, Does the projector still cycle from the side (on-board projector) buttons?? If it does, then you have a bad remote (parts are still available from: www.micro-tools.com). If it will not cycle from either the remote or the side buttons, then chances are that you have a broken solenoid link. If you are not familar with the projector & proper disassembly, I'd contact a dealer. Again, you can still get the necessary parts from micro-tools. Good Luck !!

On our Kodak 650 the remote will not advance the slides

Don, If the remote doesn't work & the projector cycle buttons do, then the problem is your remote. If neither the remote or side buttons work, then it is the LINK that connects the cycle solenoid the the cycle lever. Parts are still available from: www.micro-tools.com Good Luck !!

I just dragged this projector out of my grandma's basement. I have a new bulb and the projector appears to be in working condition except for the slide advance--the slides advance continuously. How...

There is usually a sliding tab on the side of the projector (behind the handle) that toggles between "manual" and "automatic" advance. (Some models will have a couple of pre-set advance settings between "manual" and "automatic." These usually advance the slides every three to ten seconds.) Push the tab to the manual setting--this will allow you to use the buttons towards the front of the machine to advance your slides. If moving the tab doesn't work it may be broken or jammed.

I bought a used Elmo TRV-35H 35mm projector. The camera works fine, but the tray only moves in reverse when I press the forward or reverse button. And after moving through a few slides it then moves...

Remember, mains voltages exist within the projector and thus the unit MUST be disconnected from the supply line whilst carrying out any servicing.

The reported fault sounds like sluggish operation of the advance/reverse mechanism. Lubricants used in the past tend to age and dry out so that the mechanism doesn't function correctly. IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT TO DO SO, remove the top of the unit and locate the slide mechanism. Carefully clean with cotton buds dipped in pure electronic cleaner and then re lubricate, using an oil dripper with the finest industrial sewing machine oil - emphasis is on a 'drip' of oil on the moving pivot points. Put the top back on and try again.

Problems with remote controllers are suually associated with tarnished contacts either in the hand unit or the projector. Once again, the contacts can be carefully cleaned and all should be well once more.

If you are using Kodak Carousel magazines, make sure you are using the correct magazine for your slides - cardboard or glass mounts. Don't mix slides in a magazine, as this can also cause problems.

Sometimes stop advancing. sometimes keep advancing 5 to 8 slides.

the mechanism needs cleaning. it is an almost purely mechanical device and needs greasing. the old grease gets hot and dusty and starts to get sticky. when this happens, the moving parts tend not to move. the mechanism needs to come out for a cleaning and regreasing.

Slide projector won't stop auto-advancing

The problem is "continuous cycle", a fairly simple adjustment to the cycle switch lever. Remove the lamp module & unplug the projector. Turn it upside down. Remove the 6 T-15 TORX screws from the bottom cover. The lever is a "J" shaped wire near the center of the projector. Refer to the attached diagram for help locating. You will have to carefully(!) bend the wire down - a very little at a time. After each bend, plug the projector in and cycle it a few times. If it continues to cycle, shut it off - unplug it - and bend a little more (too much is bad: the wire can break or "trap" the cycle mechanism. You want to get it in the center of the pad, as the picture illustrates. Good Luck !!

Yes, the computer won't advance the slides unless connected via the USB cable to the projector.

First, make sure your batteries are good.

For moving the slides ahead, there is a button that says next page. When you push that, it will advance.

O, another things is that you must connect your computer to the projector with a USB cable. I assume that you are trying to run it from a computer.

Perhaps you could explain more about what you are using.
