Question about Kitchen Ranges
The door was not closing fully, hanging open about 1" at the top. My wife opened the door fully and engaged the small catches on the hinge bars, which link them together, allowing the door to be lifted away from the oven.
The springs seem strong and nothing obviously broken.
How do we re-install the door and dissengage the retaining catches on each hinge? It appears impossible!
Your help would be very welcome.

I finally got my door back on, I had to wedge a butter knife in the hinge to keep it open, then I could put it back on the pins and slide the metal cover/locking thinge over it. Was a pain in the ass.

Not too common at all.Tough call ,you really can't hold the tenant at fault, replace the over priced clock and inform the tenant that the next one THEY will have to pay for.

check first that you have power to the appliance - open the cover over the connection box and check with a multimeter. also carefully check that the connection box is not burnt out. this is likely not a fault with the cooker but your power input

First thing is be careful them sprins are strong and will hurt your fingers bad if not careful. That said place both hinges in 1/3 open position they should stop there. if not put both all the way open then slide door back on and close. supposed to only lift off in 1/3 open position but whatever works.
