Samsung laptop mouse left button

My "left click" button on the left side of my mouse touch pad does not work when I try to use it. The "right click" button is working properly. I normally left click on windows to close them out, or scroll down pages, and it has completely stopped working. I am having to use the mouse pad to navigate through pages. I have checked my settings and my left button is enabled, and it states that it is working properly. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

SOURCE: how to set up mouse pad so it works with touch

Check in the control panel under mouse. There should be a setting to enable tapping. If there is a touch pad icon on the bottom right of the screen you can also right click on that and select options.

SOURCE: HP Pavilion dv9000 scroll on mouse pad has stopped working

I figured it out! The same exact thing happens to me. To fix the problem: When you exit full screen mode, click your mouse on your internet page to make sure you are actively on that page, then hit the space bar twice. I have been using this method for a week now, and it solves the problem every time!! I hope this helps you!

Unlock cursor for acer laptop

Your laptop comes with a touch pad that acts as a mouse. Instead of connecting a mouse each time you want to use your laptop, you can use the touch pad that is integrated underneath the keyboard. This comes in handy when you are in a tight spot such as in a classroom or on an airplane. At times, you may need to unlock the laptop touch pad because someone who borrowed your laptop disabled it. It may also be locked due to a slight malfunction that you can easily fix by enabling the touch pad in your computer settings.
Click the Windows "Start" button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop. Scroll up and click "Control Panel." Choose the "Mouse" icon or type "Mouse" in the field in the upper-right corner. Click the "Enter" button and then click the "Mouse" link. Press the "Hardware" tab or the tab to the right of it that specifies the type of touch pad you have. If you are under the "Hardware" tab, highlight the touch pad in the list of devices and click the "Enable" button. If you are under the touch pad tab, click the enable button. Click the "Apply" button and then click the "OK" button. Hope this helps.

The right side of my touch pad control button has stopped working

Did you check the settings for the left and right buttons under the mouse properties. Normally the left should be set on Click and the right should be set on Shortcut. If it's set to NONE then it will be inoperable. Better yet you can click the Default tab for buttons. Otherwise, it sounds like your touch pad needs to be replaced. The immediate remedy to this is to just go purchase a USB mouse and voila, you'll have the ability to left and right click.

On your laptop, directly beneath the touch pad are two oblong buttons. They act as mouse buttons. The left one selects and the right one gives extra options.
Hope that helps.

Touch pad doesn't work

Determine What's Wrong
laptop'smag-glass_10x10.gif touch pad basically provides the functionality of a mouse for a desktop PC, typically with two buttons located just below it acting as the left and right click buttons on a desktop computer. A touch pad may be damaged by excessive use or foreign substances such as water, dirt or food items.

Hit the "Windows" button on the keyboard and then use the right-left keys (or hit 'C') to open "Control Panel." From there, again use the right-left keys to get to "Mouse" and then hit "Return."

Use the right-left keys to toggle between the tabs and open each to investigate whether any boxes had been improperly clicked by accident that cause the touch pad to become unresponsive. But if any of these steps fail to remedy the problem, then the touch pad may need to be repaired or replaced.

Repairing/Replacing TouchpadA touch pad assembly cost $100 or more and that's not including replacement installation. Hiring a specialist to replace a damaged touch pad, including parts and labor, may easily cost $200. Unless the laptop in question is worth well over $1,000 and the touch pad is deemed a necessity, such repairs are rarely worth the cost.

Attempting to replace the touch pad without certain expertise in laptop assembly may be dangerous and/or destructive. Also, getting a replacement part that's not compatible with the laptop may have catastrophic results, including irreversible damage to the laptop. So just attach a mouse to it so you can work easily. Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

Trying to figure out how to right click on my touchpad on my Samsung N310 GO

Your netbook does not have the typical left/right click mouse button. It has instead a rocker-bar style mouse button. It requires you to rock the button to the right to initiate the right click. The pad also features multi-touch functionality, which means you can do things like bring your thumb and forefinger together or move them apart to change the size of photos or swivel your fingers to rotate an image, just like you might on a touch screen phone.

Mouse touch-pad

Click Start > Control Panel > Mouse > Device Settings (tab) > Settings (right hand side, immediately under the white box with your touch pad device listed)

Select "Tapping" on the left and make sure it is enabled.
If tapping was enabled, go to "Sensitivity" on the left and adjust the touch settings.

Thanks for using the FixYa forums!

Dell latitude c610 touch pad left button problem

Will your laptop work properly with an external mouse? If so, check your touchpad settings in "Control Panel" by selecting "Mouse". Here you can reassign your Buttons. Try setting your Right Button function to "Double Click". If the "Double Click" function works on your Right Button then chances are you have a problem with your Touchpad Assembly which means it will have to be replaced. Dell refers to it as a "Palmrest" which they will replace if still under warranty.
