Question about Verbatim ® Store `n` Go USB Flash Drive, 8GB
My USB flash drive is not recognizable in any computer. It shows up in device manager as unknown device. But in "My Computer" the drive does not show up at all. There is no light that is blinking or turning on when I plug it in. I have tried it in multiple desktops and a couple of laptops, various different ports. The message that comes up is "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)." In Device Manager, the yellow exclamation point shows up and I've tried uninstalling it and then scanning for new hardware. It comes back with the yellow exclamation. I've pulled out the battery of my laptop, waited 30 minutes, and turned it back on. I've updated drivers and it says "The best driver for my device is already installed." Even though, when I first plug it in the usb port is will tell me that the "Device Driver Software was not successfully installed." I've checked on the verbatim website and there are no drivers that I can install manually. My computer has been updated with all the needed updates. I just need to open it long enough to copy the files onto my computer. Is there any way to override the windows stopping the device? This was the replacement Verbatim store n go 8G that has done this same thing. I have MONTHS of work on this drive and I would like to be able to recover it. Thank you in advance!
Google search how to reformat flash drive.
I had same problem with external hard drive and reformatted, and all data was intact.
Then back up on cloud, or separate drive

It seems that the issue is related with the flash drive itself, I have came across with such problems many times. I guess now it's time you should go and ask for a replacement. Most of the flash drives comes with 5 years warranty. You may want to call verbatim customer support for warranty. Contact details

Welcome to Fixya. Bsod or Blue Screen of Death errors may be caused by either a software problem or a hardware problem. It doesn't really means that your 8GB usb drive causes the error it depends on the error code that you will see on the Bsod screen.
On the example image above under Technical Information you will see STOP: 0x00000050 is the error code that causes the blue screen and SPCMDCON.SYS is the program or file that is affected. You need to get the error code and the program or file that is causing the Bsod.
You can give me the error code and the the program or file that is causing the Bsod so that i can explain to you what you need to do.
Thanks for using Fixya.

SOURCE: i have a 16GB memory
try steps below to recover photos from memory stick
1. Do not save any new file to memory stick.
2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory stick shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download recovery software, recommended one is asoftech photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
4. Install and open the photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted photos.
