My dx 2547 shuts down after about 10 seconds of transmission for about 3 seconds and keeps repeating this as long as the Mic is held down. Any thoughts or suggestions to fix this problem?

Likely the transceiver relay, if any dampness has entered the unit, overheating or reduced power input, they tend to get stuck and the machine will shut down to protect itself.

Timer starts and stops whithin 3 seconds, how do I adjust the run time to operate as normal?

Most likely the timer has suffer failure, for example the small gears wear out, or motor begins to slow down and then motor overheats causing motor failure.
Might try resetting the timer by turning Frequency Knob to Reset, and then reprogram:
Copy following link for more recent timer manuals that may not apply to older timer:

Hi,

The middle blue led is the charging indicator, sounds like you have (at least) a bad battery, remove it, plug in AC and try again, if no good, remove the HD and repeat, if no good, remove/replace the ram and repeat, if still no good, your mainboard is cooked.

Thanks,

Adam.

The light stays on for a long time although it shuts off (a lot more that 4.5 minutes). Can this be adjusted to be shortened? Where and how on the unit?

If you have one of the newer models the duration can be changed by holding in the lock button until the light blinks (about 10 seconds.) A single blink indicates that the timer is reset to 1½ minutes. Repeat the procedure and the light will blink twice, resetting the timer to 2½ minutes. Repeat again for a 3½ minute interval, etc. up to a maximum of four blinks and 4½ minutes.

If your opener has the motion sensor feature and a person enters the garage and walks in front of the door control the light will come on for 5 minutes and then shut off.

Using self timer on my digital camera

1 In any Still mode, tap Settings to open the Settings
panel.
2 Tap Self-Timer/Burst repeatedly, until the desired
Self-timer icon appears at the bottom of the LCD:
10 seconds—A picture is taken after a 10-second
delay (so you have time to get into the scene).
2 seconds—A picture is taken after a 2-second
delay (for a steady, auto-shutter release on a
tripod).
2 shot—The first picture is taken after a 10-second
delay. A second picture is taken 8 seconds later.
3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.
The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay.

Won't turn on... just keeps flashing

Either the contacts to the battery aren't lining up correctly or it just needs a new battery. OR the charger isn't charging the battery.

to rule out an overheat condition, if you immediately try again, does the exact sequence repeat, and again repeat...how many times without change in "only run momentarily" time? if the time "only run momentarily" never changes, then overheat is not the problem. so look for a faulty timer function that repeatedly times out. try changing timer settings.
