Factory reset toshiba A105-S4384

Put Recovery Disk 1 in the CD/DVD drive, then power off your computer, unplug everything from the unit including the AC, remove the battery, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds, replace the battery and then AC, power on, at the Toshiba logo screen press 'F2' to enter the BIOS Setup, in setup press 'F9' to load setup defaults, press 'F10' to save and exit, now at the Toshiba logo screen press 'F12' to enter 'Boot Sequence', with the up and down arrow keys to select 'Optical Disk Drive' or 'DVD/CD Drive', you will then see 'Press any key to boot from CD/DVD drive...' with the dots counting down, press any key before the count down finishes. Assuming you get back to the Toshiba Recovery Utility menu, select the 'factory default' choice, and return your unit to its out-of-the-box state.

How do i recovery acer aspire 5672WLMI laptop back to factory settings? I try <alt> and <F10> method but it only sends me to a black screen with gray writing and has nothing to do with rec

Shut the computer off and then power it up again. As it is starting press the shift button and F10 and hold. You should get a warning that you are about to reset your computer select yes.

Keep in mind that once it does the reset all previous windows updates will be lost and need to be down loaded and installed through windows update again. Windows XP is no longer supported so not sure if all XP updates are still available.

My computer doesnt show the factory reset

The only factory reset on a computer is in the BIOS, which you select after it shows the manufacturers logo or name. It will usually display the key to press and say SETUP. On Dell is F2, some are the Delete key.

Windows 8 will also do a factory reset which will pretty much do a clean install like when it was first installed.

If you do a reset on the BIOS and your Windows does not come up and possible blue screens with a STOP error, go back into the BIOS and on the drive type, switch it from AHCI to ATA. It should then boot fine.

I turn on my computer and i get a dell start up screen. and in the bottom right hand corner it says press f2 for setup or f12 for boot options.. then it goes to a black screen that says "media test...

Hi. Try these simple steps: Restart your computer and press F8 when you see the Dell Screen. In the advanced Windows Option, choose Last Know-Good Configuration and press Enter. If nothing happens and you didn't boot to windows, you may need to reset the system back to factory image.

To do that, Do the first 2 steps if you're using Vista. If you're using Windows XP, on the Dell logo, Press Ctrl+F11 to boot from the recovery partition. Follow the instructions to recover system back to factory image.

Hope it helps!

How do I reset my Gateway LT20 Netbook Series back to the factory settings?

Very simple! You need to go into Cmos for the setup which is usualy F2 on boot. Once in the setup you go to the end page whwere it asks you if you want to restore factory defaults. Simply click on it then press save and exit. If F2 does not work on the boot to access Cmos setup then look at the screen as it starts to boot and it will usualy tell you what function key is for setup. Good luck Phil

How do i install the computer back to original factory settings

Hardware:
If you are talking about the BIOS settings.
Reboot the machine and hit the F2 key or Delete key.
Which ever the machine requires to start up the Motherboard bios screen.

There should be a setting that states:
Reset to default factory settings.
Select this, save and restart. Viola your factory settings have been restored.

Software:
Usually the machine came with a restore CD.
Be careful with this one and make certain this is the only course of action. Make sure the bios is set to boot from the CD FIRST before it boots to the hard drive. Follow the CD's instructions to restore the factory default setup. You will Loose EVERYTHING so be sure.

Good luck!

Asus EEE PC 900A Linux- boot problem after downloading updates

Consider downloading a specific release of Ubuntu; eeebuntu. Download the ISO and then conenct an external DVD device to it, during the BIOS screen, choose the ESC button and boot from the external device.
This Ubuntu-specific group offers three kinds of ISO's (simple, super basic, and a loaded release), all of which allow all parts to work out of the box:

If this does not work, check the informal eeepc forums
