Depends of the Make and Model. Sometimes stamped on a machined pad near where a distributor would attach.

2004 Sunfire block heater

The element does sit in the coolant. It will be immersed in the engine's water jacket. The block heater is mounted in a freeze plug location.

Does coolant sitting in the combustion chamber cause damage? if there is gunk from backfiring in the combustion chamber will that damage my engine?

It depends.
If liquid coolant is sitting in a cylinder, and it is more than say a tablespoon full, and you start the engine, it could damage the cylinder wall or the piston. Liquid will not compress, so as the piston comes up to the top, something would have to give and that would usually be the piston or the connecting rod.
A constant leak could scratch up the cylinder wall.
I would not expect any residue from an engine that backfires since it is merely firing the fuel in the intake or exhaust manifold rather than in the cylinder.

Wher is the crank sensor located in 1999 grand cherokee laredo located

Hi there:
Check Grand Cherokee Jeep Limited 1999/2000, the CKP sensor is located on the right side (driver side) at the end of the engine block when you open the hood and facing the engine block..the sensor sits on the bell housing..It has its cable connector end pulled all the way to the left side of the engine block and connected there, so you may have to first locate and grab that connector cable end, near the oil filter at that left side at the end of the engine block , and then you feel and trace the connector cable all the way through the back of the engine block back to the CKP sensor on the right end side of the engine block in order to easily locate the sensor.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

If a diesel truck sits to long could it damage the fuel pump

It depends upon the enviroment the truck is stationed in. If you did not drain the truck before parking it for a long time. It tends to block intake valves etc.
