Question about Televison & Video
Turns off after less than 30 seconds. Throwing a 38 code: Lamp temperature high. New lamp installed. All fans are operational. Ballast sounds like its working. Suspecting a light temperature sensor or thermal switch may be faulty. Unsure how to proceed at this point.
At this point it could even be a communication issue between the circuit boards themselves. Call around to various TV repair shops to get an idea of the problem and an estimate. Last time I came across a similar prob the person got charged several hundred dollars because of the type of TV it is and it may be worth it to just purchase new.

continuous blinking green light indicates that the capacitors have failed on the DM pwb. You need the V26 DLP DM repair kit which is available at the following link under their repair category.

SOURCE: Bad Bulb?
the pins that protrude into the lamp compartment have a tendency to get out of alignment where the lamp will only make partial contact. It sounds like what youre describing.
