How do I remove hose from end that goes into vacuum cleaner?

if it is a convulated hose then it is screwed in to the fitting as if it is a left hand thread
the end section in the fitting is normally glued in to the fitting as well, so you will have to use a small flat bladed screw driver and pass it along side of the hose to break the glue
whenyou have the hose out cut off the bad bit or fit the new hose in after you put a small bit of contact cement in the thread of the fitting

Dyson DC14 hose won't extend and floor unit lost suction

Sounds like the exhaust side is clogged. Remember a vacuum pulls air into the cavity, but for it to work properly it also has to be able to exhaust the same amount of air it takes in. If the exhaust is blocked it will continue to suck air inside and collapse on itself, which is why your hoses are getting shorter and harder to move. Check the exhaust system for any blockages, perhaps the hole you taped was the exhaust.

How do I close off the hole to use the extension hose?

Some units do not have a close off. Simply connect the hose to the inlet or outlet and use to such up dirt, or dust off components.

Hole in hose

according to the schematic it doesnt look like you can take that coupling apart. Usually when one has a problem with an electric canister hose its just easier to replace the hose because trying to shorten it without damaging the internal electrical wires and reassembling with the hose working is very unlikely. the hose part # is 43433113. you might have a hard time finding it tho. that hose was discontinued on 1/09 (same time that dirt devil bought out hoover and moved them over to china.) if you need anything else feel free to let me know.

Is there any way to patch a small hole in the lower hose of my hoover windtunnel bagless? I think my rabbit nibbled on one of the ridges.

Usually any kind of strong adhesive tape will do like electrical tape or carpet tape. A small piece should do it fine but if you can try and put a piece inside the tube so that the hole is sticky on the outside of the hose. Then put another piece over the hole on the outside to seal it. Its a tricky operation but if you are patient easy enough to do but needs very close attention. Also make sure that the tape is sealed across a flat part of the hose, not across metal ridges as when the hose is stretched the ridge part that usually has a metal coil inside will stretch and is no good for any hose if a hole has been made against the metal part.

Accessory hose not sucking

Try taking the hose off, and making sure it is not stopped up, either in the hose, or where it attaches. Straighten a wire coat hanger and run down the hose to check for obstructions.

Hope this helps!!!
