I would check your model number, though--I don't think you have the correct number. You can also find out how to do that at the site as well.

Some of the newer computerized machines have a button that allows one to sew without the foot pedal controller. Are you sure that you haven't engaged that button?

Ah... I have one of those as far as I am conscerned it's lawn art. There is a pin that runs the zig zag that over time wears out the pin hole. Not to mention that top gear that strips out. They aren't worth putting too much effort into getting them repaired.

I will say that zig zag timing is far more complicated than a regular straight stitch only machine. You might find it easier to get help from a sewing machine tech.

Try pulling your top and bottom thread to the left side of the foot before you place the presser down and start sewing.
