Re: computer freezes up

Assuming you are turning on your computer and it freezes after a short time, have you tried not accessing your email, but just leave it and see if it freezes?  If it does, it may be a problem other than virus.  Consider getting it checked for cooling problem. such as cpu cooling problem. (i.e. dust covered heatsink, fan not spinning, etc.)

Re: computer freezes up

Are you using outlook for your mail? You probably have a virus, spyware or both. You need to run a virus scan with either avast antivirus or avg, both free programs. Then download and run adaware personal, also free and look for spyware. Finally download ccleaner for free and use that to do a final cleanup. Your computer will be clean and running much faster. You should also switch to a free web based email like yahoo to avoid more infections. - my website

I had an acer aspire 5335 that did the same thing, do as I say... CTRL+ALT+DELETE and open task manager. got to processes. Id there are many of them from programs you don't have or don't recognize you could have viruses or unneeded processes. try ending them, they usually never close by themselves and require you to do it as said. they could be slowing down your computer to this point. If not then watch the performance on idle with no tasks running. if the cpu is jumping from a low number like 10% to 80%-90% non stop you might want it to be checked out.
