SEAGATE hdd ST2000DL003. How do I get this HDD up and running?

Depending upon what kind of computer you are using, you might have to use an application which will allow you to partition this 2TB drive into smaller pieces. It is entirely possible that you have an older BIOS in your computer, or not enough RAM Memory, which will not allow you to deal with the new HDD in its full capacity, but will allow you to use it if repartitioned into smaller chunks, like 500 GB each. If so, making four 500 GB partitions in your 2 TB drive will be just as effective, but will give you four more drive labels, like G, H, I, and J to which you can write.

Good luck,
-a.

I purchased a toshiba portable dvd player and the disc is not spinning therefore reads no valid disc. I have put in a few discs still same reading? Any suggestions?

Hello
The Sled Motor is defective. this is the motor, whic spins the disc as it has been loaded properly. If the loader mechanism loads the disc properly into place and if the catch up magnet catches the disc in place, and still the dis do not spins, replace the sled motor. OK.

PLEASE HELP? Why is my Seagate Freeagent 2 TB GoFlex ST2000DL003 beeping?

the only thing I can suggest it to try running the Windows new hardware wizard and see if you can reinstall the drive. Sometimes you can pick up hardware with that wizard.
You could go into computer management which is under the administrative tools menu and see if either of the device driver tag there is a mention of the hard drive there. If you find one that matches your hard drive you can right click on it and delete it. Then you can run the wizard again and see if it will recognise your hard drive.
Have you tried it on another computer?Hope this helpsregards

My disk wont spin when i put it in what do i do

This is the type of problem you experience when your console is having a faulty mechanism. The disc spins like this.
When you insert a disc, it pushes some little switch and this makes the mechanism which bears the lens begin to spin the disc.
When your console is having a problem, it can be due to only a few causes.
Below are each of the causes well emphasized on.
1. When the little switch that sends a signal to the mechanism has moved out of place and as a result, it cannot send the required signal to the mechanism to start spinning the disc.
2. When this mechanism is faulty and cannot spin the disc correctly.
Lastly, the console might be experiencing one of the usual or normal system errors.
The only way you can tackle this problem at home is by performing a hard reset. The instructions for doing this is written below
Be sure to backup your settings/games saves by doing a System > Backup on your PS3 or you may lose your game saves! Also, this is a last resort procedure prior to exchanging/returning to sony.
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).
If this does not solve your problem, you have to send it to a repairer.
Hope this helps?
