Product Key for preinstalled version of Microsoft Office?

Hello there, Usually when you purchase a PC the microsoft package is not pre-installed with the product key. You always have to purchase the product key to have complete access to the entire package. Usually you would have to purchase the key from the microsoft website. As there is no way to access the product key from the already installed version which was on your unit. Hello. I think the product key at the bottom of your laptop refers to the Certificate of Authenticity of the Microsoft Windows (Vista or 7 or whatever you have) installed on your computer. For your Microsoft office suite, its product key is usually on a sticker attached to the inside of your CD case or located with the manual that came with Office 2007. If you downloaded Microsoft Office 2007, the CD key was probably in an email from Microsoft

The new purchased laptop or used one but with factory restore have a preinstalled office. However this office version is a trial version and only good for 60 days. You need to buy from microsoft to get the product to use it beyond that periods.

MS Office Home/ Student 2007 comes as a 60 day trail whenever u buy a pc or laptop installed with windows vista or windows 7. You need to buy a license if you want to use it after 60 days. You can buy one here http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX101211561033.aspx.

If you are sure if you paid for Office while buying your pc or laptop contact your vendor.

The product key on your laptop is probably for windows xp/vista. Office 2007 usually comes preinstalled but not licensed. As far as I know, unless you specifically have a document saying that you have a license for Office 2007 you can't legally get a code from someone else on this site.

Very many people are having the same problem, this is because computer manufacturers are failing to tell customers that preinstalled Microsoft Office 2007 is only a trial version. Once the trial version has run its course it will ask you for another product key to activate it. Even if the laptop is new it all depends on when the operating system was installed on the hard drive, this could be as long as 2 years in some cases.
This means that you have to purchase a product key from Microsoft to activate office.

PS if you don't want to pay for an office suite then go to www.openoffice.org and download openoffice for windows, you can view and modify Microsoft documents with openoffice so any work you have saved will not be lost.

If Office came preinstalled then the product key should be on the booklet or on the office cd case itself. If it is the trial version then you will need to purchase a key from Microsoft at www.microsoft.com. If you need a key for a product you purchased then you will need to contact Microsoft support as they are the only ones authorized to replace lost keys. Hope this helps.

MS Office 2007 comes preinstalled with the laptop and is only a trial version, the key underneath the laptop is the product key for the operating system (Vista, XP etc) and will not activate office.
If the trial period has run out then you have to buy a product key from Microsoft.
If you don't want to pay for an office based program then i suggest you download Openoffice for free, you can read any MS Office document with that.

Are you referring to Vista or Office? At the back of the laptop is the product key for Vista. For Office, the product key can be obtained together with the disk of the full version of Office. If it is Office which is asking for the product key and you do not have the disk for it, you need to purchase the retail version of Office or have the key directly from Microsoft (1-800-936-5700). Or if you are really referring to Vista and entered the product key at the back of the laptop and it is not valid, please call Microsoft still. Hope this helps. Thank you
