My vista is going slower when i shot down

When you shut down I think you mean. You would likely need to disable all your startup programs and then re-enable them one by one until you locate the culprit.
Click START/RUN and type in MSCONFIG.
Click on services tab. Click disable all.
Reboot.
Shut down.
If the problem is gone, repeat the process re-enabling things one by one until you locate whats hanging the system on shut down.

How do you turn off the loud chime melody every time you open the Jazz DV 178 camera. The audio settings don't affect it.

I had hoped that there was an unadvertised code or key sequence to disable the chime, but I guess not. I am going to simply disconnect (if I can) or destroy the little speaker that produces the chime melody. It doesn't do anything else that's useful so I know I will not miss it.

I don't think I need a group of "experts" to ponder over this, for a fee. But thanks for the offer anyway.

Windows 98 will not shut down

There are several reasons that can cause old Windows operating systems to shut down. Has this always been an issue or did it just start happening? If it just started, then think back to what you may have changed on the system...hardware or software. Remove software or hardware and try it again.

You can also try disabling the fast shut down sequence by following these steps:
1. Go into msconfig (this can be done by typing msconfig under the command prompt)
2. Go into advanced.
3. Put a check mark in the disable fast shutdown box.
4. Click ok and ok again.
Try shutting it down.

If that doesn't do the trick or its already disabled then check out this link:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/202633/en-us

I hope that helps. Check back and let me know! Thanks.
