SOURCE: Turning Off Irregularily

A voltage converter is not neccessarily the proper piece of equipment to use as most equpment comes with a 120/230 voltage selector. What is probably causing your problem is power frquency. Power in India runs on 50HZ, not the 60Hz we use in the states. This causes a slightly longer peak wave and can cause over heating, therefore shutdown. Check to see if the unit has a 50/60 switch and switch to accordingly.

Back when I was a professional sound engineer and toured abroad, we used a device called an auto-former. These changed the frequency and voltage as needed. Unfortunately the first time I went to England I forgot about this, could not find any pre-built ones and had to spend nearly a week designing and fabricating 8 of them....

SOURCE: bose acoustimass 25 subwoofer has no power

Honestly speaking you should probably not work on this unit yourself: "There are no user serviceable parts inside"

Even if you are an accomplished Electrical Engineer Bose will not provide the required schematics to troubleshoot and repair this unit.

Are you still undaunted . . . then if the case is the original LS-25 series, there is a hidden catch at the end of the cover furthest from the input connectors that needs to be rotated (until a plastic tab is sticking out), which you can do with a flat bladed screw driver, and you also need to remove a few screws from the bay where all of the connectors reside. Remove the two knobs from the side of the cover. Then hit the case with your fist at the far end (plastic tab) and the cover should then pop off. You may have to hit it hard, with an upward motion.

Note there is not going to be much you can do to fix this beyond replacing the fuse. (Note that the fuse may be soldered in.) The bass amplifier is op-amp based with discrete class G output stage and the twiddler amps are monolithics with discrete class G circuitry shared between several channels.

The power transformer has a thermal fuse in it as well which is not replaceable. If you play the unit loudly for long periods of time and it is not adequately ventilated it is possible for the thermal fuse to open - if this is the case you will definitely need to send it in for service.

When plugged in there are hazardous voltages present on the top PC board where the power connector is located, whether or not the unit is turned on.

Power switching is via a triac controlled by whichever front end you have CD-5? 12V should be present on the mini plug (tip I think, but might be ring) when the music center is on.

There is also offset detection circuitry that will latch the unit off should any output have more than a volt or so of offset.

SOURCE: Bose PS321 No Sound

The power supply is 29 volts raw voltage, the IRFI44N fet on the power board is used is a switcher.
It reduces the voltage to 17 volts which is required for the AV3-2-1 meda center. The higher voltage biases the sound to cut off and can blow the drivers, try changing the fet and see if plays........

Bose acoustimass 3 system connect to TV without receiver

Manuals (randomly chose a Series 2 from 1990-1994 - if not that, then choose the series from the Bose site)

There are a number of different models. Assuming you don't have a Powered version of the speakers (You'll know you do if you have to plug the subwoofer into AC power)
For the Unpowered systems, the subwoofer plugs into the Speaker R and L outputs of a receiver or an amplifier, so you will have to provide amplification. The satellites plug into the subwoofer and are NOT intended for direct connection to an amplifier.

You should be able to use whatever amplifier has audio inputs from your TV, and regular speaker wire connections out.

Get a separate amp for the 901's and the rest falls into place.

1,2, 5) Place the 901 Active EQ between the pre/main front OUT of the receiver and the TFM-55X. Attach the 901's. Keep track of the jumpers you remove from the receiver. Or replace the jumpers with RCA splitter cables so you still have pre/main connection but can share the output with the TFM.

3) Pinnacle subwoofer (self-powered?) to the subwoofer out of the receiver.

4) Bose (AMS???) 5. As surrounds on the receiver. Place the sub module toward the rear so it mates sonically and directionally with them.

What? No center speaker? I'd get something more robust with bass capabilities, like a pair Bose 301 series 1's because the tweeters face in one direction only.

Except for the amps and the cube stuff that is essentially what I have. 6.1 with full-range speakers everywhere.

You can get a 3 pin plug from many shops, but make sure the voltage rating on the back says it will work on 240V if using in britain as America use 115v electriccal system.

I have just bought a new bose 901 speaker system which included equalizer. I am not sure how to connect the equalizer to my receiver Denon 3808. I need help.

http://products.bose.com/pdf/customer_service/owners/901_guide.pdf

Be advised, this speaker system requires its own dedicated two channels of signal preamplification and power amplification and the required Active EQ is not to be used in the signal path of anything else. I have them as my Main Left and Right Speakers in a 7.1 set-up, but I'm using a 5-channel external Carver Power Amp to drive them, a sSb and the Rear Surrounds. The Active EQ is between the Receiver's Main L&R Preamp Outputs and the two Carver Amp channels that drive the 901's. Don't think you can just add the 901's into your living room and enjoy multichannel sound. Search around fixya, I have written extensively on this subject.

901's directed to TV

Yes, you can plug your TV directly into the Bose 901 Equalizer, but you will still need to go from the EQ into an amp to drive the speakers. The Bose EQ basically is for the speakers, not the signal coming in to it. Because of the speaker design, the EQ "shapes" the sound to compensate for the speakers. Please rate my answer, thanks.

Connecting bose 321 system to lg hd flat screen, bose receiver plays fm am ok threw speakers.tv will not play threw bose speakers.bose dvd plays sound ,but no picture

You will need a Component Video Cable
Connect the Red Green and Blue Connections from the TV to the Bose.

if your audio is coming from the TV, also connect stereo audio from the TV's audio out to the "TV" input on the bose.

if you want to hook up other devices (VCR, BluRay, etc) the video will go directly to the TV and audio will go directly to the Bose
